Dear Motorcycle Rider/Biker,

Welcome to Southeastern North Carolinas Premier Motorcycle Riding Club with over 24,000 miles and 113
posted rides traveled by our chapter members in 2016 alone! This is the ultimate club for those folks who truly
enjoy riding motorcycles!

The following information is offered as an introduction to The Port City Chapter, #162 of the Southern Cruisers
Riding Club (SCRC) located in Wilmington, NC. This information is intended for local riders/bikers who have
recently joined our chapter or those who are interested in becoming a member of our chapter. Several items are
listed below for your reference and include various hyperlinks for you to click on allowing you to quickly get up to
speed with the SCRC and Port City Chapter #162:

1. The Southern Cruisers Riding Club (SCRC) is a free (no costs or fees to join) family oriented riding club (not
a biker club), which is dedicated to the safe enjoyment of our motorcycles and the support of the
motorcycling community. We ride with a "safety first" attitude, ensuring the safety of all individuals is
paramount, whether or not they are a part of the group. The SCRC is not a biker club, a social club or an
Internet club for Motorcycle Enthusiasts.

2. The SCRC consists of both men and women riders of various ages (30s to 70s) and includes bikes and
trikes of all makes, types and sizes. We are a non-brand specific club, so whether you ride a Harley, a BMW,
a Suzuki, a Honda, a Yamaha, a Kawasaki, a bike, a trike or any street legal motorcycle that can maintain
speed at posted limits and you have a current valid motorcycle license/endorsement, you are welcome to ride
with us. We also promote Motorcycle and Public Safety rules, and under no circumstances will we be involved
in any illegal activities.

3. The club itself is a not for profit type club and all positions are voluntary. As an organization, SCRC tries to
be involved in as many charity fundraisers as possible. Some of the charities supported nationally are: St.
Jude Childrens Research Hospital, Missing Children Foundation and The Foundation for Children's Brain
Tumor Research. We are always happy to participate in Toy Runs, Goodwill Fundraisers or any other local
events where we may be of help to the community.

4. There are no requirements on wearing a club patch, except for officers. If; however, you would like to
purchase a patch or any other SCRC gear, they can be ordered directly from the main Southern Cruisers
online store at: SCRC Gear Online Store.

5. The Main Southern Cruisers Website is: Southern Cruisers Main Website. This is the one that will familiarize
you with the overall organization, which is quite large with 30,000+ active members and over 650 chapters
worldwide. The "Sign Up On-line" link is the one you would use to join the organization and select the North
Carolina Port City 162 Chapter to become a member of our specific chapter in Wilmington. There are no
costs or fees to join. You may also want to wait before joining until you ride with us a few times (like I
did) to see if the people, group and style of riding are a good fit for you.

6. Our local chapter was organized in November of 2000 and offers a website to familiarize you with: the
officers, general information, our mission, safety, hand signals, ride photos, ride reports and events. The
website for our specific local chapter is: SCRC Port City 162 Website.

7. The Delphi Forum is our primary and preferred method of communication and the following link will allow you
to create your membership and profile: Delphi Forum - Create Membership & Profile. Once you create your
Delphi Forums Membership, you can see various postings for rides, events and gatherings for our club. You
would select the Basic Delphi Account or membership level since there is no cost or fees for that level. Also
select Port City Chapter SCRC for our specific forum then you are good to go! Once your membership and
profile is created you may use the following link to sign in: Delphi Forum - Member Sign In. You may view
messages as a guest; however, you must sign up and become a member in order to post or reply to
messages.

8. We also have a Facebook page, which is: Port City Southern Cruisers. This is a closed group (members
only) page that only members of our riding club can access; therefore, after you join, you would also have
access to this group page, once accepted. It does offer some good general information and notices of rides
and/or gatherings but is not our primary method of communication.

9. Chapter Officers, Road Captains or Tail Gunners will typically plan and post group rides (no later than 6:00
pm the day before) on the Delphi Forum for every upcoming Saturday and/or Sunday. The rides will vary in
length and destination (restaurant for lunch) and generally be between 100-200 miles round trip and no more
than 2 hours one way give or take with a brief (approx. 10-15 minute) comfort stop along the route at the
halfway point. A pre-ride safety briefing will be held 10-15 minutes prior to departure with kickstands up
st
(KSU) and departing promptly by 10:00 am. Rides posted for the 1 Sunday of every month typically depart at
11:00 am. Additional specialty, long distance and bike rally rides are similarly planned and posted with
departure dates and times listed based upon the event. You ride as much or as little as you like and
sometimes a few of us diehards will even get together on the spur of the moment to ride more frequently.

10. Group rides will depart from our primary rally location; the Kangaroo Convenience Store in Murrayville - 2400
North College Rd, Wilmington NC 28405. This is located just south of Laney High School at the intersection
of North College Road & Murrayville Road. Rides may also depart from a different starting point on occasion.

11. Our regular scheduled monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Location: McAlister's
Deli - 740 S College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28403. It is located across the street from UNCW. No meeting in
December due to the Holiday. We discuss a variety of items such as: upcoming rides, safety concerns,
suggestions for weekly or long distance rides, Iron Butt rides (Saddle Sore - 1,000 miles within 24 hours &
Bun Burner - 1,500 miles in 36 hours), New Years Day ride, Frostbite ride, SCRC Rallies, poker runs as well
as other events like Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach, Myrtle Beach Rallies, etc. Come out to eat around 6:00 -
6:30 pm as the meeting will start at 7:00 pm. All are welcome and it very informal and fun! We will be in their
meeting room off to the left side from the front counter as you enter the building.

12. We also get together every Friday from 6:00 7:00 PM at PTs Old Fashioned Grille - 1437 Military Cutoff Rd,
#106, Wilmington, NC 28403. This is located near the intersection of Eastwood Road & Military Cut-Off
Road. Members meet for an informal gathering (inside & outside) and often times ride to a different nearby
location for dinner afterward.

13. SCRC chapter members are encouraged to participate in at least one type of club function every ninety (90)
days. If we do not see or hear from you, your status may be considered to be inactive. As a result, inactive
members may be potentially dropped from membership without notice to ensure an accurate and active
membership list is maintained. We consider participation to include: chapter rides, events, attending the
monthly meetings, assisting with charity fundraisers and/or coming to PTs Grille on Friday nights, just to
name a few. If you are unable to make any of these club events for an extended period of time, just let us
know so we understand the nature of your absence. We recognize that there are many reasons due to
inactivity and just want to stay in contact until you can return back to an active status and participate.

14. Members are also requested to advise the 1 Officer if any of your contact information should change
concerning: Name, address, telephone number, email address and/or In Case of Emergency (ICE) contact
details since we will use this information for communication of any club related business.

I sincerely hope this information offers you a good introduction to the SCRC and Port City Chapter #162 and we
look forward to riding with you soon. Please do not hesitate to contact me either by email (pllivolsi@aol.com) or
cell phone (910-620-4227) should you have any questions or need further information. Now lets ride!

Sincerely,

Phil Sparky LiVolsi
