1.0 AIM

The aim of this paperwork is to outline the planned programme.

2.0 INTRODUCTION

2.1 Malaysia is currently at its effort to become one of the quite

formidable economic participant in the immediate region as well
as the global economic community. Along with the effort to
become one of the best developing country, malaysia also bound
to face many challenges including hazardous working
environment.

2.2 Occupational injury and illnesess is one of the principle issue that
must be tackled with other major national issue. This is because
workers are a valueble asset of this country as their are the prime
mover to achieve national target in term of countrys development.
Hence ensuring their health, safety and welfare is one of
important core effort that must not be overlooked by all party, be it
the employer, goverment agencies and the employee themselves.

2.3 Realising this issue as a paramount importance for the countrys

development, the Ministry of human resource through its proxy,
the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), have
done a proactive steps by developing the Occupational safety and
health master plan 2020 (OSHMP-2020) as the basic reference
for developing a safe, healthy and condusive workplace
environment.

2.4 Sabah Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Association

(SOSHEA) as an association with the objective to increase
awareness of OSH issue in Sabah, also want to take part by

organizing a seminar namely Understanding OSHMP-2020 :

Prevention through safety culture in order to help disseminate
the core information with regards to OSHMP-2020 to all involving
party, agency and the OSH practitioner themselves.

3.0 VISION

Cultivate a safe and healthy work culture for the wellbeing of workers,
employer and country

4.0 MISSION

Implementing a culture of prevention in the workplace

5.0 OBJECTIVE

5.1 Disseminate new infromation with regards to OSHMP-2020.

5.2 To gather nearby Sabah Safety, Health and Enviromental
practitioner and increase their network relationship, the seminar
will be a platform for them to get to know to each other.
5.3 To give a firm foundation of understanding with the current
national target on OSH for workers, safety practitioner and
employer.
5.4 To increase awareness on safety culture in order to develop safe
working environment
