1) first calculate the expected 2 theta position of the first few peaks in the diffraction pattern,

2) Recognize the (hkl) values for the first few peaks.

3) Use Bragg's law to determine the inter planar spacing d (this is experimental d value depend
on 2measured experimentally)

4) Obtain lattice constant using the standard formula for different crystal system. (given below)

5) It is easy for cubic system as all lattice parameters are same. On the other hand for TiO2
crystal with Tetragonal symmetry how to calculate is given below.

For eg. Choose a plane in which l=0 you will get lattice constant a=b; use this value in other hkl
plane to get the lattice constant c.
