Adjusting to life

In my entire life, I have come to learn that life refers to that period where any living thing

is seen as existing, functional, and in one way or another is authentic. Understanding the facts

associated with life has triggered my desire to encapsulate every single aspect life encompasses.

With special interest in diversity, I have learned that in life various people will always come to

you and join bonds in one way or another. Although people are not meant to stick to our lives

permanently, there is that premise that I fully concur with that ever person who comes to our life

has a role to play. Also, these people are to be in our lives for a season so their identities in terms

of race, color or age wise does not concern me as long as they have a role to play in my life

including steering me through the difficult journey of life. I school with people from all walks of

life whose language, dressing mode, food, and generally culture is far much different from mine,

but I still have time to listen to the view they have concerning life as treat them impartially.

Being in the same school with such people has made me develop the attitude of appreciating

every individual regardless of who they are, their origin, what and who they love or what and

who they value. Arguing from a biblical point of view, I firmly believe that we were all fearfully

and wonderfully created and God did so in his image and likeness. It, therefore, implies that we

did not come into existence by chance, thus, I appreciate everyone who comes my way.

Balancing priorities

In the process of growing up, I have come to learn the need for balancing priorities.

Sometimes it is always difficult to balance between family and school. As the eldest and a person

from a family that is financially unstable ii would like to say that it becomes difficult to focus on

school particularly upon remembering that you also have to look for some casual jobs to provide

for the family too and help the parents. My siblings do respect me and they value the values of

perseverance and endurance I have. As a matter of fact, they always try to emulate me. As

already mentioned earlier, the little money I get as wages for my hard work assists me in

providing some support in terms of settling bills. At first, I found it much difficult to balance my

money in terms of saving and contributing towards the wellbeing of the family. Most of the time

I would divert a larger chunk of money to pocket money for my schooling and some for

recreational activities. With time, I learned to be responsible to the extent of comfortably

dividing the money l get among House bills, pocket money, and even to buy candies for my

siblings.

Developing identity

Identity is always viewed as a brand that categorizes an individual. The norms and beliefs

a society holds make it put its individuals into various categories that basically dictate their

identity. I once fell a victim of low-esteem which made me feel worthless and hopeless mostly.

In fact, I reached a point of feeling that I was the last person any good could come his way. I can

still recall the circumstances that put me under torment with my high school teacher. This teacher

alongside other teachers used to call me a moron since my academic performance was below

standard. I felt lowly concerned about myself as I trod the path of demoralization. I had to give in

to the teachers claims and believed I was, in fact, stupid. To come back to the path of success, I

had to attend some counseling sessions the school counselor used to organize and participated in

various talks of motivation in the pursuit of reviving my self-esteem. Since then I learned of the

unique character I am and that I am only one who can strive to bring the good out of me to

improve the various features in my life. Gradually, I have come to develop my self-esteem. In

fact, I feel I have grown stronger through the years, and I have managed to develop my self-

identity in a deemed fit for myself.

Coping with stress

In our lives, we engage in very many activities some of which seem stressful to take part

in. Coping with stress is an experience we have to learn. In as much as we are informed in school

on how to manage stress the need to realize the objective of this learning activity is much critical

as far as life is concerned. No one can plan such that all his/her strategies lead him/her to

stressful conditions of life. It is important to open up and let people know what you are planning.

At least you could get advice as to whether that will lead to stress or otherwise. This can help to

cope with stress proficiently.
