1) Production of Oil from rice bran using Solvent Extraction Process

Synopsis: Rice Bran is obtained from the granular coating between the rice kernel and the
husk. The bran received from the Rice Mill is then cleaned by the sifter and runs through an
oven to reduce moisture content and into the extraction plant. Rice Bran Oil is extracted
using of chemicals delivering an oil fortified with high level of essential fatty acids, vitamin
E and gamma-oryzanol .Rice bran oil extracted from extrusion-stabilized bran was
processed to a high quality salad oil. Stabilization prevented free fatty acid formation in rice
bran prior to solvent extraction of the oil and thus increased the yield of refined oil.
Degumming soon after extraction removed a larger proportion of the gums and waxes and
resulted in a higher yield of refined oil.

Production of ethyl alcohol from molasses using saccharomyces pombe

Synopsis: In the manufacture of alcohol by fermentation, distillation provides a means
for separating the ethyl alcohol from the fermented mash or beer. Production is carried out
in very large fermentors and the inoculum for these fermentors is added in the range of 3 to
10 percent with an average of about 4 percent. Molasses, diluted with water to the desired
concentration is metered continuously onto a single tank fermenter. Additives line urea and
defoaming oil are introduced in the fermenter as required. The fermentation lasts
approximately 2 to 3 days, with the actual time period being dependent on the substrate
utilized and on the temperature of incubation. The distillery unit produces rectified
spirit has a purity of about 98% is sent into the rectifier & in the rectifier it is
converted into the ethanol where the produced ethanol is pure

• Participated in U-19 Cricket for regional sports meet 2005 at KV, Hakimpet.

• Participated in BIOPARMACON 2K7, national level seminar at Al-Ameer college,

Vishakhapatnam.

• Participated for the theme “INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AND ENVIRONMENT” at the

cluster level science exhibition at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rajahmundry.

• Participated in SRUJANA 2007,a state level project exhibition cum competition at

Jangareddy, Medak dist.

• Attended FUSION-07 , a national level students seminar at Anantapur.
