Using Laser Scans
Everything3D has an integrated Point Cloud Engine
No requirement for a Laser Model Interface [LMI] license
No additional software is needed
Laser model is stored as an AVEVA
LFM database

Everything3D Laser Interface
To import the Laser Model Database first create a zone.
From the FluentTM UI Home Tab select Access Laser to import the Laser
Model.

Select the Training Data Laser Model Data Set (GT_TRA.lfd) via the
Browser that is displayed.
This action will create an XGEOM (External Geometry) under your zone.
The Laser Data will be added to your display. You may need to adjust your
limits.

Laser Interface Bubble View
The Bubble View is a photographic 360 degree representation of the Laser
Data taken from the Camera Positions.
There are 2 methods for displaying the Bubble Views and these are
selected from the 3D Display.

Selecting Options will allow you to set a Region of Interest and


graphically adjust the limits by simply dragging the arrows of the limits
box.

Select Low Density Points to remove Laser Data outside of your limits.

Polygon Fence can be used to Clip Laser Data.


Display Reset will display all of the Laser Data.
The Tools section of the Laser Tab is the same as the Laser Model
Interface (LMI) and will allow to create graphic aids and to add Design
Points which can be used to position the Heads and Tails of your Pipe
Branches.
The Measure section is used to obtain Pipe ODs, Clearances and Laser
Point Positions.

Select the Obstructions/Exclusions tab to clear the current obstructions.

From the Obstruction pull-down select Laser Model in Display and Add

Select the Clashes tab, Navigate to a Design Item and select Check CE
Use Pick a Point on the Clash 3D display to display the BubbleView.
