Students in the All-West Concert Bands will attend 2 and 3 periods Thursday morning, then eat
lunch during A lunch. They will then report to the band room, where a bus will take them all
downtown to the Cannon Center. Large instruments (tubas, bass clarinets) should be loaded on the
band trailer before school.
After their performances with given All-West ensembles, students are released to their parents to
return home.
Hotel
Those who signed up for the All-West Hotel will be staying at the Sheraton (attached to the Cannon
Center). Room keys and numbers will be assigned Thursday evening following the night rehearsal.
Lights out will be given from the directors based upon release time from ensemble rehearsals.
Students WILL NOT leave the hotel to downtown Memphis without directors or parent chaperones.
Meals
Each day during lunch break and dinner break, the directors will meet all students in the main lobby of
the Cannon Center facing Main Street. There will be parent chaperones to split up to eat at the
various restaurants around downtown. Students will not walk around downtown Memphis alone.
Students should bring money for 3 meals (Thursday dinner, Friday lunch/dinner)(approx $10-
$15/meal)
Attire
Attire for all rehearsal is casual (t-shirts, jeans, etc.), but appropriate. No inappropriate words,
slogans, or pictures.
Attire for concerts is suit coat/tie and slacks for gentlemen, formal dress or slacks/blouse for ladies.
All should wear dress shoes. Students are welcome to wear AHS band or orchestra concert attire
(tuxedos, black dresses, all black).
Behavior
Students should be on their best behavior throughout the All-West weekend. You are representing
yourself, all the students attending All-West, Arlington High School, the AHS Orchestra, and the AHS
Band. Any behavior issue will be dealt with swiftly by the directors and WTSBOA.
