Greetings, May 20,2010

I am a graduate from Atlanta Metropolitan College. My main goals are to

graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan College and attend law school, so
that I may become a district attorney and shortly after run for public office. I will
resolve corporation lawsuits and extend my services to different agencies. This
ambition will allow me to build integrity and trust for the constituents that I will
possibly represent in a future election as mayor. Academically, I will pursue
diversity in the women’s institution, the Study Abroad Program and a higher grade
point average.

Financial needs are a very important obligation for obtaining an education. I

have been fortunate to receive federal assistance for my first two years of college
due to my parent low annual income. My mother does not have a college degree
and works full time as a Pre Kindergarten teacher to supply resources for our home.
At the age of three my father died and my mother was left with four children to
support. An older sibling and I reside in my mothers’ home attending college and
looking for work to provide a better future for ourselves. I am seeking funds to
cover my remaining two year expenses at Wesleyan College. The cost of tuition and
board will be approximately $60,000 for two years. The estimated expenses are
based on tuition, room and board, books, supplies, transportation cost, technology
allowance and miscellaneous expenses. With this financial assistance it will allow
me to migrate away from home and reduce the burden on my single parent.

Wesleyan is a private school that caters to women and their education. I have
been accepted into the institution and will start in the Fall Semester of 2010. The
finances for the institution are scarce. The reliable contributions are from my job at
the Salvation Army, where I work once a week to assist my mother with providing
basic needs for our home. I will have $500 set aside for my education in the Fall
Semester. The federal government will cover a maximum of $5500 per year for my
college education. I have also been awarded $1750 per semester for the Hope
Scholarship in honor of my academic achievements. I also was rewarded a
Leadership Scholarship for $3000 per year from Wesleyan College for exemplifying
extraordinary service at Atlanta Metropolitan College and in the communities. In
addition to that I received a $3000 Merit Scholarship for my 3.02 grade point
average from the women’s institution.

In closing, I would like to attend one of the best institutes in Georgia to complete my
undergraduate Degree in Political Science. The curriculum offers a number of
unique courses that I think will benefit my cultural experience and career goals.
Education is a very important portrait of my life success. I am determined to earn a
quality education with the help of some financial assistance.
Sincerely,

Jasmine Worthen, AS
