o Placement in a 2nd grade classroom; I taught five formal lessons and spent 248 hours with the class
and host teacher assisting with a variety of classroom instruction. My primary focus on literary
development through reading groups/centers and gifted testing/extension activities.

o Under the guidance of Dr. Wallenstein, I planned and taught several lectures throughout the semester
and graded/provided feedback for weekly written responses.
Summer Staff Member at W.E. Skelton 4-H Educational Conference Center, Summer 2015
o Worked at a 5-day sleep away camp with 300+ children each week for 13 weeks. I designed and
taught 4+ lessons each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
College Mentors for Kids Family Coordinator, Fall 2014Spring 2016
o I served on the exec board of this program that brought ~30 high-need elementary students to
Virginia Techs campus for two hours a week. These students met a variety of departments on
campus to learn the options that college has to offer. I supervised these groups and activities weekly.

o Elementary aged students visited Virginia Techs campus and I helped teach mini lessons to various
small groups, focus on STEM.
Teaching Intern at Gilbert Linkous Elementary School, Spring 2014.
o Spent 150 hours as a classroom intern in a Kindergarten classroom. I focused on end of term
testing/data collection and assisting host teacher.
