BEING FULLY PERSUADED

Romans 4:16-25; Hebrew 10:22-23

"Being fully persuaded" is a functional boldness of conviction about something. It is faith

manifested in a greater dimension. Faith is the only way through which we relate with God. By faith
we approach the throne of God for help in the time of need or problem- Put succinctly, the Bible
says: "but without faith it la impossible to please Him..." (Hebrew 11:6]. However, no person can
really exercise faith in God without full conviction about His ability, faithfulness and willingness to
fulfil His promises. This is because the exercise of faith (actions) are borne from deep persuasion
(Conviction) of these things. He must be persuaded of the fact that all His promises "use yea and In
Him Amen".

Thus, to be "fully persuaded" entails three things; (1) To be fully convinced about one's state of
heart (a condition for answered prayer), meaning that his heart is in the best state, devoid of sin,
unbelief, doubt, fear, and other clouds between him and God- (ii) To be fully persuaded about God's
promises and the mandate of the scriptures on one's needs, and (iii) To be fully persuaded about
God's ability and faithfulness to answer and perform His promises. Examples abound in the
scriptures of people that manifested great faith to God. Abraham was "fully persuaded" that God
was able to perform His promise (Romans 4:21). Shadrach. Meshach and Abednego defied the
unrighteous decree of Nebechadnezzar because they were persuaded that the "... God whom we
serve is ABLE to deliver us..." (Daniel 3:7}. Sarah, through persuasion, "judged God faithful who
has promised". Apostle Paul's consecration and love for God was continually fresh and fervent being
convinced of God's ability to sustain him till the end of his ministry (Romans 8:38.39). What shall
we say more? Space will not permit us here to enumerate the great blessings showered on many
other mortal men and women who manifested great faith in God in the Holy Bible.

In Hebrews 10:22, Apostle Paul exhorts that when approaching the throne of God, we should "draw
near with a true HEART (sincere! In FULL ASSURANCE (persuasion] of FAITH, having our hearts
SPRINKLED (purged) from an EVIL CONSCIENCE and our BODIES washed with PURE WATER (the
word of God)". This unfolds the conditions for receiving from God anytime we approach Him for
blessings. To be a partaker of God's blessings, the sinner or backslider should get his heart purged
of sin (I John 1:9). To the saint, fear, unbelief and ignorance of God's promises among other
hindrances, must be dealt with thus putting the heart in "full assurance of faith".
