1. While writing your paper, what did you learn about the research process?

The research process was a very interesting journey, The paper did teach me how to write
college level papers and helped me with using reliable sources. Because of the paper I have
gained new knowledge and experiences when it comes to writing papers.
2. How was the research related to your mentor hours?
Actually the paper was nothing like my hours mainly because my mentor was not an FBI Agent
he was a School Resource officer. Even though this was the case there were some similarities, so
include the crime report and investigative process. But with my mentor we did more things with
the public not with actual investigations.
3. Summarize the mentor hours that you completed.
With my mentor we helped foster public relations mainly because during my mentors hours the
police killings was fresh in people's minds and many had a distrust or flat out hatred for the
police
4. How did working with your mentor affect your understanding of the topic area and
/or the professional world?
I learned how the police and other forms of criminal justice classify crimes and prosecute and
investigate criminals
5. How did creating a product and completing the hours challenge you personally?
It challenge my creative side in that I had to create the entire crime and also my organization as I
had to have people helping me with the project, as I used them for props in the crime report.
6. Do you feel prepared academically and emotionally for the presentation?
a. If not, why? What challenges do you still face to feel prepared?
I do not feel originally that I was prepared for this project. Senior year I felt confused for a long
time and I did not have much help when I asked what it was that I had to do. Even though this
happened I still managed to complete my project to the best of my ability.
7. How did the entire process stretch you as a learner and as an individual?
I went out of my comfort zone and stretched when it came to organization and time management,
I am a very lazy person who procrastinates and does not get much done, so this project
challenged me especially my product as I had to write the entire report and organize several
people for the visual evidence.
8. Other than time management, describe an obstacle you encountered and how you
overcame it.
Organization with other for my project as I had to have several people help me with the product
in order to gain my evidence
9. What life skills did you acquire and how will they help you in the future?
I learned how to do college level work and college level effort. This project will prepare me
college and life is the amount of effort and work i must put into a given project.
10. If you had to go back and do parts of the project again, what would you do
differently?
I would have jumped on my mentor quicker so that possibly I would not have gotten a resource
officer, instead i may have gotten a actually FBI Agent or possibly a field officer.
11. Based on the entire Pride Project experience, do you plan to pursue this field as a
career or college area of study? If so, why? If not, why? Please be specific.
Yes I still want to pursue the profession of the FBI as this project has only increased my desire
and love for the job.
