CO2 Injection
Multiple Visualizations with Dynagrid
This model was running using GEM and it is a pattern CO2 flood in an 8x8 aerial reservoir with two
producers and two injectors. This example had a Dynagrid option activated in order to reduce the
running time and increase the accuracy of the results.
CO2 compositions are monitored in the produced stream and termination is based on a CO2
threshold molar fraction.

Open CMG Launcher and go to "..\Results 3D\CO2 Flood". Drag and drop the
CO2_Flood_Dyna.irf file onto Results3D icon.
You should now see the image of the reservoir in 2-D areal view.
Click on the Properties button located in the Standard toolbar. Another option to
access is using the Menu Bar, select "View" and then "Properties"
You should now see the following windows:

Restart animation and stop it at 2002-07-01. Right click and select Rotate (3D View).
Rotate the model in such a way that hole in the grid is shown in front of you (Cells
disappeared because the temperature is high than 200 C), zoom in and notice how oil flows
to the producer well (Vectors: Arrows shown direction of the oil movement) as shown in the
figure below.

Volumetric Black Oil Reservoir

Stream Lines and Vectors
This model was running using IMEX. It is a small reservoir with gas cap and aquifer combination
(Gas Cap - Solution Gas - Aquifer) drives depletion operation (no pressure maintenance). This tilted
reservoir containing a gas cap, an oil leg and an active bottom aquifer will be depleted by
simultaneously producing gas and oil (A total of 6 oil and gas wells), without re-cycling the
produced gas for pressure maintenance. The oil wells located along the downdip area near the
aquifer, will produce water, after a period of production, from the advancing aquifer water.

Open CMG Launcher and go to the folder "..Results 3D\ Stream Lines". Drag and drop
the file " Stream Lines.irf " onto Results3D icon.
In tool bar on top, go to "Paper Zoom Selection List" and change from whole page to
Full Window.
Click Quick 3D Full View button , You should note that this is a quick option to see the
model in 3D without Titles, legend and other scales.

Go to properties menu by clicking on the icon located on the upper bar of main menu.
On General category, select Black Background & White Borders and change page
color to Black. Click on Appy All.
Click Rotate (3D View) button located in the right-top tool bar.
With Rotate (3D View) active, you can zoom in/out of the reservoir view by pressing
and holding the "Crtl" keyboard button, the left mouse button and moving the mouse
forward (zoom in) or backward (zoon out). You should now see the image of the reservoir
as shown below:
