the Grand Bazaar, the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and end up our last place of the trip
spending time to eat dinner at the famous Turkey restaurant. Here is your tour schedule, I will
give one per pair. ***Give tour schedule to tourists***

Dada : Let me briefly talk about this city. Istanbul is the old capital city of Turkey. It is
historically known as Constantinople and Byzantium, It is the most popular city in Turkey
and the country's economic, cultural, and historic center. Do you guys know how to say
Hello in Turkey? lets pronounce follow me Merhaba () 1 2 3 mer ha ba!!!
Toey : Do you guys know what is political system of Turkey? ..Turkeys political
system is parliamentary representative democracy, since year 1923 until now Turkey has total
12 presidents, the present president name Recep Tayyip Erdoan, he is the one who improved
Turkey's economic standing. He reigned in inflation and encouraged foreign investment,
leading to a rise in per capita income, stronger credit ratings and close ties with Western
allies. He once became prime minister of Turkey. Turkey is known as a secular state which
is seperation of religious and state, no matter citizens are difference religion, they will get
treat equally.

Bob : The secular state was established in year 1923 by nationalist leader Kemal Ataturk who
is the first president of Turkey. He is the one who change political system from absolute
monarchy to be democracy.

Toey : For more details of him, I will tell you later because now its time to go to the Topkapi
Palace. Here! we are arrived at The Topkapi Palace. Lets get off the bus.

--------------------------------------------The Topkapi Palace-------------------------------------------

Dada : Welcome to the Topkapi Palace. It is the biggest and one of the most popular places
to visit in Istanbul. It was built in between 1466 and 1478 by the sultan Mehmet II. The
palace was the political center of the Ottoman Empire between the 15th and 19th centuries,
until they built Dolmabahce Palace by the waterside.

Bob : But after the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, Topkap Palace, was renovated
to a museum and it was also the first museum of the Republic of Turkey. Lets go inside to
the Topkapi Palace.

Toey : But first, let me tell you one thing, the officers are not allow you to use cameras or
phones to take a picture or a video inside this palace. Please dress appropriate to respect for
Sacred Relics, you must not wear shorts, mini-skirts, tank tops, or strapless clothing. Oh! But
you guys are fine! No one dress inappropriate. Follow me lets enter the entrance!

Bob : The first palace constructed by Mehmed II at the site of the Istanbul University, soon
proved inadequate to meet the demands of Sultan`s administration. Thus, he ordered another
palace to be constructed at the site of the Byzantine acropolis, with the Golden Horn, the
Seraglio and the Sea of Marmara encircling it.

Dada : Over the centuries, the palace experienced many changes with additions being made
to the original structure. Parts of the palace building were often destroyed due to fire or
earthquakes and constant restoration work took place. Each Sultan that repaired a part of the
Topkapi Palace did it according to his own style or the architectural style prevalent at the
time.

Toey : It has evolved to its present form over the centuries and some of the older construction
can only be seen in the earlier paintings or miniatures. The last building was added by Sultan
Abdulmecid who later abandoned it to live in the newly constructed palace on the Bosphorus.
Bob : Today the Topkapi Palace is still a remarkable sight with its minarets, turrets and
domes. It covers an enormous area of 173 acres which houses garden courtyards, kitchens,
armory, workshops, baths, offices, halls and residential areas.

(While walking in Topkapi Palace)

Dada : Shall we go to see the garden outside the palace? The garden is called Gulhane Park,
Lets go! Do you guys know that Turkey actually called the republic of Turkey. Before 1923
Turkey was called Ottoman Empire.

Bob : The history of Turkey has been covered more than 4000 years. Turks first lived in
Central Asia around 2000 BC. Later, some of them left Central Asia and establishing many
states and empires independent from each other within a vast area of Asia and Europe. We
will never have Turkey like today, and this country will not named Turkey if we dont have
this person. Do you guys know who is that?

Toey : Looks! He is the statue of person who the English women take a photo with now. His
name is Mustsfa Kemal Atatrk. Did you guys remember this person?, the one I talk about
since the very beginning of our trip. This is the first statue of Ataturk. He is the first president
of Turkey and a revolutionary who helped establish the Republic of Turkey. Mustsfa Kemal
Atatrk is the war hero when Greek invaded Turkey after World war 1 and signing the Treaty
of Lausanne in 1923, which made Turkey a republic.

Dada : Then he was elected to be the president. By that time, he moved the capital city from
Turkey to Ankara. He transformed Turkey into Modern state by brought Democratic system
into Turkey. He did a lot of changes in Turkey including eliminated many of Arabic element
in Turkish language and used Roman alphabet instead.

Bob : He introduced the new system of education and last name just has been used in that
period, economic in that time were better than before. Moreover, he created Secular state.

Toey : Lets go to the bus! Next from here, We will go to Grand Bazaar which is a traditional
market. Bus ride takes you 12 minutes to arrive there.

---------------------------------------------The Grand Bazaar-----------------------------------------

Bob: Now, we arrived at the Grand Bazaar. It is the one of the largest and oldest covered
traditional market in the world. The market was established in 1455 by sultan mehmet the
second. Who come to Istanbul must come to this market. this market have more than 4000
shops and 64 covered street.

Dada : The Bazaar was expanded in the 16th century, during the reign of Sultan Suleiman the
Magnificent, and in 1894 experienced a major restoration following an earthquake. This
shopping center connecting 3 continents in trade. When it was originally founded, it is an
epicenter of international global culture.

Toey : You can buy many jewelleries, hand-painted ceramics, carpets, embroideries, and of
course, if you want to buy some souvenirs this is the best place that you can looking for. Oh!
and one thing I want to remind you, make sure that when you want to buy something from
the market ask the seller for the discount more than 50%. Dont scare to ask, because the
price that they set is so high. Everywhere you go in Grand Bazaar, you will be offer the glass
of delicious tea because shopkeeper will served it to any tourist that enters a shop. Tea is such
an important part of Turkey culture because it symbolizes the hospitality of Turk, it has many
social connotation, and Turks is very friendly person.

Dada : You guys have an hour here for shopping and have lunch. Our appointment point is
here, in front of this kebab shop. Now it is 12 am, so we should meet here at 1 p.m.
I recommend kebab shop at the cornor of that street.
Kebabs are originated in Turkey when soldiers used to grill chunks of freshly hunted animals
skewed on swords on open field fires.

Bob : KEBAB is grilled beef, chicken or lamb cut into small pieces and put the meat on the
bread with some vegetables such as onions and tomatoes. It is so delicious and not that
expensive. It is one of my favourite kebab is in Istanbul and the other side is Dondurma or
turkish ice cream. The ice cream is made from goat milk. It is famous for its taste, sticky and
how they serve you. The seller will play little trick with you. and you can enjoy a lot of street
food here.

Toey : Now its time to go to Hagia sophia. Lets get to the bus, if the traffic is not jam the
bus will take you no more than 20 minutes there.

-------------------------------------------The Hagia Sophia----------------------------------------------

Toey : Now we are at The Hagia Sophia, one of the historical architectural wonders that still
remains standing today. It is an important place in the art world with its architecture,
grandness, size and functionality.

Dada : The Hagia Sophia, the biggest church constructed by the East Roman Empire in
Istanbul, has been constructed three times in the same location. When it was first built, it was
named Megale Ekklesia ( ) (Big Church).

Bob : The Hagia Sophia has two floors centered on a giant nave that has a great dome ceiling,
along with smaller domes, towering above.

Toey : However, after the fifth century, it was referred to as the Hagia Sophia (Holy
Wisdom). The church was the place in which rulers were crowned, and it was also the biggest
operational cathedral in the city throughout the Byzantine period.

Dada : Hagia Sophia built at Constantinople in the 6th century under the direction of the
Byzantine emperor Justinian I. It is the most important Byzantine structure and one of the
worlds great monuments.
Bob : Additionally, Hagia Sophia became more important with time as subsequent architects
became inspired by the dome when building later churches and mosque. The interior was
decorated by marble.

Dada : Initially, the upper part of the building was minimally decorated in gold. After the
period of Iconoclasm, new figural mosaics were added, some of which have survived to the
present day.

----------------------------------------------The Blue Mosque---------------------------------------------

Toey : You can see that opposite of the hagia sophia that there is a beautiful mosque called
Blue Mosque, but in Turkish its called Sultanahmet Camii i. It is a masterpiece of Islamic
architecture and surely one of the most beautiful buildings on the Earth! It will take about 2
minutes walk to there.

Bob : For those who wants to enter this building, please make sure that you dress appropriate
follow their rules. For men, you have to wear a long pants, and for women, you must wear a
long skirt also dont forget to cover your shirt and hair with head covering. If you are female
and dont have Head coverings, you can pick it up at the entrance of the mosque for free.

Dada : Heres the entrance, lets walk in.

Bob : Now we are in front of the Blue Mosque, Anyone know some historic backgrounds of
this building? Let me describe you. The Blue Mosque was built after a series of Turkish
military defeats in the war with Persia.

Dada : Sultan Ahmed I realized that no new mosque had been built in the city for about forty
years, so he decided to please Allah and remedy the situation. It was his purpose that this
would become the first mosque of his empire.

Toey : The Blue Mosque also was built because Sultans Almet want to compete the Hagia
Sophia because in 1453 Hagia Sophia was praised to be one of seven most amazing place in
the Middle East. Thus, theres no wonder that why does the mosque was built faced Hagia
Sophia.

Bob : Mosques traditionally have one, two or four minarets. Thats what makes the Blue
Mosque unique as it has six minarets which are the towers that built for the call to prayer. Its
rumored that this was a misunderstanding as the Sultan had instructed his architect to make
gold minarets which his architect understood as six minarets.

Toey : Lets go inside of the Blue Mosque. If there are some people offer you to enter
mosque without queue up please ignore and avoid them because those people mostly will try
to sell you something and take you to the some shopping place. Best way is to line up and
enter Mosque just like other tourists. Don't worry if line looks very long, it will move very
fast for sure.

Dada : Before step in to Mosque, please take off your shoes and put in plastic bags that
provide at the entrance and once you are inside please be quiet respectfully. also when you
want to take a photo please dont use flash.

Bob : The Blue Mosques interior is lit with 260 windows and 20,000 blue tiles line at high
ceiling and thats why the name Blue Mosque come from. The oldest of these tiles feature
flowers, trees and abstract patterns that make them fine examples of sixteenth century Iznik
design.

Dada : At the Mosque exit, you can put used plastic bags in bin bags and return head covers
to duty staff. You can donate to maintain the Mosque at the exit door. So, now We are finish
for today. Are you hungry yet? Next we will go to well-known Turkish restaurant.

-------------------------------------------El Amed Terrace Restaurant-----------------------------------

Bob : Now we have arrived at El Amed Terrace Restaurant. It is one of the most famous
Turkey traditional food restaurant in Istanbul. You can enjoy the beautiful view and light of
some part of istanbul from here because the restaurant is located at the rooftop of hotel.
Toey : First, we start with Menemen or scrambled eggs, it is turkey traditional breakfast
cooked in sauted vegetables and served hot with bread. Second, kfte, A Turkish staple, beef
or lamb meatball.
Bob : After we finish our last meal we have Revani as a dessert which are traditional turkey
cake with syrup and ice cream. Revani is one of those things that the Turks and the Greeks
both like to claim as their own but the original recipe can be credited to Sephardic Jews who
migrated to Turkey after 1492. Now lets enjoy our last meal.
