Resonance

1 A 0.6 kg mass Is suspended from a light helical spring which is

attached to a peg, vibrating in simple harmonic motion, whose
frequency of vibration can be varied as shown in figure (a) below. The
variation in amplitude of vertical vibrations of the mass, as the
frequency of vibration of the peg is varied, is shown in figure (b).
Estimate the resonant frequency of the spring-mass system using
figure (b). Use this value to calculate the spring constant of the spring.
- Inform the patient of the need for further treatment - arrange for follow-up
treatment for the patient - complete a Follow-Up Form

A CFE must check the placement of the therapeutic liner and the temporary
restoration prior to dismissal of the patient.

Unrecognized Pulp Exposure: If a pulp exposure if found by examiners in the

Evaluation Station, either when evaluating a modification request, or when
evaluating a completed preparation, the examination is stopped for that Candidate
and the Candidate will receive no points for that procedure.

The Chief Examiner and a CFE will inform the Candidate and the Candidate will
receive an Instruction to Candidate form instructing the Candidate to place a
therapeutic liner, place a temporary restoration using a permanent restorative
material, inform the patient of the need for follow-up and complete a Follow-Up
Form. If the candidate has already completed the other restorative procedure, the
Candidate will receive credit for that procedure, but will have to retake the
procedure they failed. If the pulp exposure occurred during cavity preparation for
the first restorative procedure for that Candidate, they will not be permitted to
proceed to the other restorative procedure. The CFE must check the completed
liner and the completed temporary restoration prior to dismissal of the patient.
SUBMISSION OF THE COMPLETED CAVITY PREPARATION FOR
EVALUATION:

SUMMARY:

When the cavity preparation has been completed to the Candidates satisfaction the
patient may be sent to the Evaluation Station with a CFE for evaluation of the
completed cavity preparation.

If the cavity preparation is evaluated as satisfactory or acceptable, the patient is

returned to the Candidate for placement of a restoration.
