GSR 6990.-In exercise of powers conferred by
Sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the All India Services Act,
1951 (6 1 of 195l), the Central Government, after consulta-
tion with the Government of the States concerned hereby
makes the following rules further to amend the All India
Services (Death-Cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958,
namely :-
1. (i) These rules may be called the All India
Services (death-Cum-Retirement Benefits)
Amendment Rules, 2005:
(ii)' They shall come into force forthwith.
2. In the All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement
Benefits) Rules, 1958in rule 16, sub-rule (I), the following
proviso may be inserted below second proviso :-
16-7-88 "Provided also that a Member of the Service hoIding
25-2-89 the post of Chief S e c r m to a State Government
may be given extension of service for a period not
21-2-90 exceeding six months onthe recommendationsmade
16-2-91 by the concerned State Government with full
justification and in public interest, with the prior
approval of the Central Government".
