BE PART OF THE STOP DIABETES MOVEMENT AT STEP OUT: WALK TO STOP DIABETES
Walkers Help Change the Future of Diabetes

WHAT: Join guest emcee Mark Romig and more than 500 walkers as they support the fight to
Stop Diabetes on Sunday, November 6 at Lake Lawn Metairie. The event will feature
dozens of vendors and offers free oral, vision and blood screenings for participants. The
festival will also include a live DJ, cooking demo provided by The New Orleans School of
Cooking, Kids Zone and a Post-Walk Giveaway.

The following organizations will be represented: The Retina Institute, Folgers, Phelps
Dunbar LLP, Diabetes Management & Supplies, Liberty Bank, Humana, Metairie Bank,
New Orleans East Hospital, JenCare, Sliver Sneakers, CVS, St Theresa Hospital, Lilly,
Aetna, Touro Infirmary, Treasure Chest Casino, Ochsner - QU Med School, LSUHSC
Dental Association, Lake Lawn - Dignity Memorial, Save Our Cemeteries, Abbvie,
VisionWorks, Novo Nordisk, Walgreens, Medtronic and Saia.

WHEN: The festival begins at 9 am with the walk beginning at 10 am via Second Line on Sunday,

WHO: More than 500 local walkers, including Saints PA Mark Romig will be part of the Stop
Diabetes movement at the New Orleans Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes.

WHY: The American Diabetes Association is leading the fight to Stop Diabetes and its deadly
consequences and fighting for those affected by diabetes. The Association funds
research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes; delivers services to hundreds of
communities; provides objective and credible information; and gives voice to those
denied their rights because of diabetes. Founded in 1940, our mission is to prevent and
