Organ Donor Day (ODD) seeks to raise awareness and discussion in society,
specifically in families, about the need for organ and tissue donation. Founded in
1993, the event commemorates the Rowan PRSSA Chapter founder, Anthony J.
Fulginiti, who received a life-saving kidney transplant from his sister.
ODD creates an opportunity for the student body to give love by making the
pledge to be an organ donor, educates students about the importance of becoming
an organ donor, and celebrates those who have received an organ donation and
those who already are organ donors. Members of the ODD PRaction group work
to plan, prepare, organize and advertise this event each year. The purpose of ODD
is to raise awareness of the importance of organ donations, and to have Rowan
students register to become organ donors.
#PRSSAThrowbacks
This year, AJF-PRSSA celebrates its 40th anniversary, the ruby year. In
honor of Organ Donor Day (ODD) quickly approaching, PRSSA throws it back
to the 2008 ODD event.
