Framework:
1. Focusing Direction - clear on purpose w/a shared understanding of all staff - focus on 2 or 3 goal areas to
make the purpose happen; develop strategies to achieve goals-- this narrows the focus and engages people
in the process; make sure staff know that if you teach the standards with fidelity that is excellence;
make sure we check for understanding with staff, just like teachers do with students;
2. Collaborative Culture - bring in the brightest and best of the org to establish the strategies, have to be
learning all the time; Use the group to change the group; humiliation doesnt change people or
organizations; because others are doing it, doesnt work; because your kids deserve it doesnt work; cant just
what to do have to say how to do it; need to build confidence along with competence; good collaboration
reduces bad variation, rather good collaboration increases good variation - which leads to innovation;
3. Deepening the Learning - clarity of learning goals, deeper than literacy including critical thinking skills;
precision in the pedagogy; capacity building that provides a shift in practice;
4. Securing Accountability - state tests are external, but we need internal accountability

come together; Its all about building relationships; Engage others in
solving complex problems, Resource strategically

assembly with students to be transparent about what the shift in pedagogical
strategies; wifi provided so teachers ability to use technology was possible;
