Report Explanation for Students

The Semester 1 Academic Progress Report is a summary of student learning over the first semester in each of the Learning Areas
studied. The Report will give important academic information on the following aspects of learning as reported by the course teacher.

Achievement Within Course:

This is the final summative grade of all assessments, including examinations (where applicable) completed by the student in this
course over the first semester. This grade is the student's official record of academic achievement from LJBC for this grading period.
All grades are reported against the grade related descriptions for Individual Courses of Study.

Examination Mark:
If this mark appears on the report then it is an important aspect of the learning in the course and the teacher wishes to highlight the
student's performance in their examination.

During this semester students analysed the Ten Commandments and the movie Exodus: Gods and Kings while
summarizing life lessons we can learn from Moses and explored the concept of love and relationships from a Christian
perspective. Jessica has acquired a commendable understanding of the content of this subject. I encourage her to
include more detail in written work.

Jessica has made sound progress in Accounting and Finance this semester. She has a satisfactory knowledge of
Accounting theory and has consolidated her understanding of classification and the double entry system. Jessica has
grasped the fundamentals of application - including income statements, balance sheets, the general ledger and general
journal. I would encourage her to focus on format in the balance sheet and income statement, and to complete all
examination corrections. Jessica's results show that she has achieved an appropriate balance of work in class
supported by a good study routine at home. A fine semester's work, Jessica.

Jessica is a pleasant and courteous student. She has developed her vocabulary skills this semester; however, she has
found it difficult to utilise a range of grammar in her spoken and written expressions. Jessica needs to focus on
practising listening and revising grammatical structures to further improve this grade. I would encourage Jessica to
prepare early for assessment tasks.

Jessica is a quiet and conscientious student who has made satisfactory progress overall. She seems to engage well
with the texts studied, although continued efforts to improve her expression and a willingness to explain complex issues
in detail will be beneficial. I would also encourage Jessica to participate more frequently during class discussions and to
ensure she takes adequate notes to help with exam revision.

Jessica has shown improvement in effort and concentration during this semester. Although she has difficulty in grasping
some concepts, Jessica is working well her results are steadily improving. A structured and systematic revision program
using the study guides may help Jessica improve in the development of problem-solving skills which are important in the
application type questions so prevalent in this course. Jessica is an attentive and well-mannered student who is a
pleasure to teach.

The class has explored the hybridization of animal and human forms through the medium of painting. They have
analysed artworks and investigated artists. Jessica produced a well balanced painting with pleasing skin tones. Her
painting skills will improve with greater refining and tonal variation. Familiarization with art terminology will also improve
Jessica's results. I look forward to her further development in the subject.
