Asia Environmental Essay

Imagine waking up and being forced to wear a mask to breathe. This is your future if you
dont take action and help. Help with what? Reducing pollution and overfishing. These are two
major environmental issues in Asia. These issues need to be stopped, and you can help do that.

One major environmental issue in Asia is pollution. There are multiple forms of
pollution, such as air, water, noise and many others. There are many negative impacts caused by
pollution. Air pollution creates a risk of strokes, cancers and heart disease. (Ives) In 2008, 470,
649 deaths were due to outdoor pollution in Asia. (Ives) China, a country in Asia, is the most
polluted country in the world. In 2010, 40 percent of the world deaths from air pollution were in
China. (Ives)Those are just a few of the many negative facts about pollution. (Ives)

Along with pollution, overfishing is another major environmental issue in Asia.

Overfishing is the depletion of fish, in a body of water, by too much fishing. There are many
reasons overfishing is a negative impact on Asias environment. Fishing nets catch much more
than intended, leaving many different marine animals either killed or wounded. Over the past 40
years, there has been a decrease in marine species by 39%. (world) Overfishing is very hard on
the environment and marine life of Asia, as well as all around the world.

Although these issues are big in Asia and around the world, we have the ability to change
them. Pollution can be lessened by doing just a few simple things. Carpooling, walking or riding
a bike whenever possible, and even planting trees to provide clean air and oxygen, reducing
pollution. Overfishing can also be avoided by fishing in smaller amounts or not as frequently.
Along with these ideas, there are many more solutions to these environmental issues.

In the end, you can be the positive impact on the environment. By changing and doing
different just a few things throughout your day can make all the difference. So how about you get
on out there and do good to the environment. And always remember, you can be the change.
