CONSIDER: Jesus commission to make disciples. With whom are in you
relationship with that Jesus is calling to be a disciple? For whom can you be
praying to answer the call to follow Christ?

To Be Called
The disciples had lives and made a living by various professsions prior to Jesus
calling and them saying yes. The first disciples didnt go back to their previous
jobs. For modern-day disciples, our work and social lives are places in which we
represent and live the gospel of peace, forgiveness and hope.
CONSIDER: What is it like for you to be a disciple at work? At school? In the
community?

Disciple Characteristics
We could list many traits of a disciple. Inherent in the name is one who learns
and follows Jesus Christ. Looking at the lives of the first 12, imperfection is one
way to describe them.
PRAYER: Like the early disciples, I am imperfect and yet faithful, I am bold and
yet I fear. No matter, I continue to learn and follow, with my head, heart and
hands.
ACTION: List as many traits of a disciple as you can think of. Then, with a
different color pen or pencil, circle the ones you exhibit. Say a prayer of thanks
and prayer of willingness for God to continue to shape you.
