HISTORY ABOUT CHOCOLATE

The first recorded evidence of chocolate as a food product goes back to Pre-
Columbian Mexico. The Mayans and Aztecs were known to make a drink called
"Xocoatll from the beans of the cocoa tree. In 1528, the conquering Spaniards
returned to Spain with chocolate still consumed as a beverage. A similar chocolate
drink was brought to a royal wedding in France in 1615, and England welcomed
chocolate in 1662. To this point "chocolate" as we spell it today, had been spelled
variously as "chocalatall, "jocolatte", "jacolatte", and "chocolate.

CHOCOLATE DAIM

The Daim bar (formerly Dajm in the Nordic Countries and Dime in the British Isles)
is a Swedish candy bar made from crunchy almond toffee covered in milk
chocolate. It is similar to Hershey's Heath and Skor bars.

CHOCOLATE HERSHEY KISSESS

The Hershey Kisses were first introduced in 1907. It is believed that the candy was
named Kisses because of the sound and motion made by machine while
depositing the chocolate. At first, the Hershey Kisses were wrapped by hand, but
in 1921, a machine was made so the Kisses would be wrapped automatically.

CHOCOLATE TOBLERONE

Toblerone was created by Theodor Tobler (18761941) in Bern, Switzerland, in


1908. Theodor Tobler, with his cousin Emil Baumann, developed a unique milk
chocolate including nougat, almonds and honey with a distinctive triangular
shape.

Ingredients:

Sugar, whole milk powder, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, honey (3%), milk fat,
almonds (1.6%), emulsifier (soya lecithin), egg white, flavouring (vanillin). Milk
chocolate contains: Cocoa solids 28 % minimum. Milk solids 14% minimum.

CHOCOLATE FERRERO ROCHER

The Ferrero Rocher was introduced in 1982 in Europe. Shortly after release
production was halted due to a problem with label printing. Michele Ferrero, the
credited inventor, named the chocolate after a grotto in the Roman Catholic
shrine of Lourdes.

CHOCOLATE KINDER BUENO

kinder is German for "children", bueno is Spanish for "good" or "tasty"is a


chocolate bar made by Italian confectionery maker Ferrero. Kinder Bueno, part of
the Kinder Chocolate brand line, is a hazelnut cream filled wafer with a chocolate
covering.

milk fat, soy and/or sunflower lecithin, vanillin), sugar, modified palm oil, wheat

CHOCOLATE HERSHEYS

Its headquarters are in Hershey, Pennsylvania, which is also home to Hershey's


Chocolate World. It was founded by Milton S. Hershey in 1894 as the Hershey

Kit Kat is a chocolate-covered wafer bar confection created by Rowntree's of York,


England, and is now produced globally by Nestl, which acquired Rowntree in

H.B. Reese Candy Company, a division of The Hershey Company.

Ingredients :

Sugar, wheat flour, cocoa butter, nonfat milk, chocolate, refined palm kernel oil,
lactose (milk), milk fat, contains 2% or less of: soy lecithin, PGPR (emulsifier),
yeast, artificial flavor, salt, and sodium bicarbonate.

CHOCOLATE BOUNTY

Bounty is a chocolate bar manufactured by Mars, Incorporated and sold


internationally. ... Bounty has a coconut filling enrobed with milk chocolate (which
is sold in a blue wrapper) or dark chocolate (which is sold in a red wrapper) and is
usually sold as two pieces wrapped in one package.

CHOCOLATE RITTER SPORT

The history of chocolate begins in Mesoamerica. Fermented beverages made


from chocolate date back to 1900 BC. The Aztecs believed that cacao seeds were
the gift of Quetzalcoatl, the god of wisdom, and the seeds once had so much
value that they were used as a form of currency.

Ingredients :

Dark chocolate with marzipan filling (44%). Dark chocolate: cocoa solids 50%
minimum. Ingredients: sugar, cocoa mass, almonds (16%), cocoa butter, invert
sugar syrup, emulsifier (lecithins (soy)), humectant (invertase). May contain traces
of peanuts, other nuts, gluten, milk and egg.
