Queens for the King

February 2017 Newsletter

Suited up for February
This month we are geared up for all the ministry
challenges ahead. The dedicated Tear Fund interns from
the UK have arrived. We are training them to share the
gospel with the people. Tutoring in the primary school is
in full swing. Kids are learning their bible verses slowly
but surely. House visits have been a special time but we
find ourselves in need of interpreters. We can't wait to
see how the Lord is going to move this year.
Tutoring Grade 5
"Once a teacher always a
teacher" they say. Thomas is
helping tutor the grade 5 class in
English. The boys love having a
man teach them.
Every Tuesday and Wednesday a
group from Hilton Baptist meet
and work on reading and English
with this class. This month they
also learned Romans 6:23 and
John 3:16. They really enjoyed
the Valentines craft when we iced
heart shaped cookies. Delicious!

Kids Club
We have learned that Jesus searches for us when we are lost. Also that the
kingdom of God is like hidden treasure worth giving up everything to gain. The
UK interns did a treasure hunt skit which was so cute. Please pray for kids
club. Since school began this term, it has been chaotic during this time with
things competing for the kids attention. Pray for the children to desire to
hear more about Christ.
Meet the Tear Fund
Interns
These 3 ladies are the
2017 interns (Ellis, Emelia,
& Frankie). They arrived from the
UK Feb 1 and are serving 6
months at Ethembeni. We do
training on Mondays. So far they
have learned how to witness and
have developed their testimonies
to share on house visits. They
love kids so Kids club and tutoring
are perfect for their spiritual
gifting. Pray for their health and
adjustment.

Clapping-The Universal language

Ellis our intern learns a little Zulu
during Monday's training but she
quickly learned that some things do
translate across the ocean. Playing
clapping games is universal and helps
build relationship with the kids during
kids club. Plus its so fun!

Meeting needs on House

Visits
This little boy followed us all the way from
the car to our usual spot where we teach
on house visits. He sat quietly nearby and
listened to the bible story about King
David being anointed. We asked him if he
was hungry. He ran up to my partner Anne
and nodded his head. He quickly gobbled
up the muffin we gave him. Pray for the
people of Shiya. For God to provide for
their children the food they need. Also
pray that everything we teach on house
visits bears much fruit in their lives.
