RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

Edmodo is an educational website that takes the idea of social networking and makes it appropriate for
the classroom. Edmodo can be helpful for students, and teachers can reach out to one another and
connect by sharing tips, problems and ideas.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PRESENTATION

How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote students
presentation/speaking/communication skills?

If students have a presentation coming up, they can get on their classrooms Edmodo page and take polls
(much like a face book wall) on what the class would like to hear involving a presentation. On Edmodo
you can set up polls and surveys regarding anything. The student giving the presentation can ask the
students questions, and the students can write back directly, and the student who is giving the
presentation can get direct feedback on what/ what not to do.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
Based on the value-added rating scale above, how would you rate the technology integration
you described, using the selected resource?
Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I would rate Edmodo a two. I would say a two because although it does align to content standards, a
lesson can still be taught without it. Edmodo is an easier way for students and teachers to communicate.
Students are extremely engaged in social media, so Edmodo is bringing learning and social media
together to get the students more engaged in what theyre doing. It will also help keep students on
track, because they can see things such as; teacher announcements, upcoming projects, and also what
homework they have due. They can do all of this by simply checking their Edmodo wall.
