Poclain Hydraulics is committed to supplying a number of standard motors within 15 business
days, excluding transport.
This delivery time applies to any order of one to four identical hydraulic motors of a given size.

Making their selection from a predetermined list of motors, machine manufacturers can choose
from wheel motors or shaft motors, in a fixed displacement or double displacement version, with
or without a brake. All motors are equipped with a pre-disposition for speed sensor. Pre-configured
motors are equipped to guarantee a maximum level of performance.

More security for self-propelled machines
Improve the braking performance of self-propelled machines by using the entirely hydrostatic
braking capacity of hydraulic motors. The technology - Boosted Brake - meets the braking
requirements for machines running at 40 kph [24.8 mph].

On a self-propelled machine running at 40 kph [24.8 mph] the hydrostatic brake must be
combined with a friction brake to meet European regulations of deceleration.
Poclain Hydraulics has developed a new technology - Boosted Brake - to increase the
hydrostatic braking capacity of self-propelled machines.

The C27 combined brake available on MHP 20 and MHP 27 motors, combines service and parking brake
ability and offers powerful and reliable braking performance thanks to its closed design (wet discs techno-
logy) not sensitive to external pollution.

With the C27 combined brake, the MHP20 and MHP27 motors are available with two different mounting
positions to offer more flexibility.

Flanged valve

Designed with a flat porting surface, the MHP 20 and MHP 27 motors
can receive valve blocks, which can be flanged on the cover in order to
enhance the control (electrical command for displacement shifting) and
simplify the plumbing on the machine.

BOOSTED BRAKE
More security for self-propelled machines
Improve the braking performance of self-propelled machines by using the entirely hydrostatic
braking capacity of hydraulic motors. The technology - Boosted Brake - meets the braking
requirements for machines running at 40 kph [24.8 mph].

MOTORS
On a self-propelled machine running at 40kph [24.8 mph] the hydrostatic brake must be
combined with a friction brake to meet European regulations of deceleration.
Poclain Hydraulics has developed a new technology - Boosted Brake - to increase the
hydrostatic braking capacity of self-propelled machines.

Built-in pressure relief and check valves
The built-in valves ensure smoother acceleration or deceleration of the turret.
Coupled with the radial piston motor technology, these valves guarantee extre-
mely accurate positioning of the mini-excavator boom.
The technical characteristics of the MZ motor - no gear box and low internal
leakages - reduce turret drifting when operating on sloping ground.

Softshift design and integrated exchange valve
The ML06 incorporates the patented SoftShift two-speed design that softens the shifting
of the transmission, providing smoother operation and greater operator comfort.

Additionally, an integrated exchange valve sends hot oil to the cooler while providing
trouble-free cold weather performance excellent for use in snow removal applications. The
unique features of the ML06 motor provide greater overall productivity to skid-steer loader
operation.

This delivery time applies to any order of one to four identical hydraulic motors of a given size.

Making their selection from a predetermined list of motors, machine manufacturers can choose from wheel motors or shaft
motors, in a fixed displacement or double displacement version, with or without a brake. All motors are equipped with a
pre-disposition for speed sensor. Pre-configured motors are equipped to guarantee a maximum level of performance.

New cover of the M motors
Thanks to its architecture, many options are directly integrated in the cover:

- Relief valves can be integrated as close as possible to the motor, which is the most
efficient way to reduce the risk of pressure peaks.

- Integrated anticavitation valves make machines more reliable. Customers will appreciate
this option, which ensures a longer lifetime for their machines, especially for applications
in open loop when the motor undergoes working sessions with high inertia and can be
driven by the load.

- Thanks to the flushing valve option, the motor is now able to regulate the temperature of a
closed loop circuit without addition of another valve block.

- The flange ports allow direct connection on the motor with an external valve bloc.

PW/PWe pumps include some very innovative features which contribute to its compactness, reactivity, efficiency and robustness.
PW/PWe pumps provide a continuously variable flow rate between zero and maximum in forward and reverse direction.
Flow rate is proportional to rotation speed and swashplate angle.
It is featured with a charge pump to keep the cloosed loop circuit pressurised. This avoids risk of cavitations and ensures a good

Our electronic control boxes control the displacement and the direction of the flow while
permanently monitoring the operating parameters of the engine and of the complete hydraulic system.

Pressure relief valves and charge pump
High pressure relief valves:
They maintain circuit pressure in the proper range. The check valves allow charge
flow to replenish the low pressure loop of the circuit.

Available setting: from 320 to 480 bar [4,641 to 6,962 PSI] delta pressure.

Charge pressure relief valve:


It provides a relief outlet for charge circuit. This valve is used to set the charge pres-
sure of the circuit. Flow through the valve is ported to case.
The nominal charge relief setting is referenced to case pressure.

Available setting: from 18 to 30 bar [261 to 435 PSI]

Charge pump:
Charge flow is required on all PW/PWe 085-096 pumps used in closed circuit
installations. The charge pump provides flow to make up internal leakage, maintain
a positive pressure in the main circuit, provide flow for cooling and filtration, replace
any leakage losses from external valving or auxiliary systems, and to provide flow
and pressure for the control system.

Available displacement: 17 and 22 cm/rev [1.04 and 1.34 in/rev]

ECODRIVE
Reduced consumption in work and road modes
The EcoDrive solution is applicable to all machines with an electronic pump control and
internal combustion engine control by CAN Bus.
Completely automatic, the EcoDrive function requires no particular action from the driver
and always selects the best combination of internal combustion engine speed and pump
displacement.
Machines fitted with the EcoDrive function are much more eco-friendly, with reduced fuel
consumption, CO2 emissions and noise impact.

ELECTRONIC CONTROL OF THE P90


SmartDrive system
Similar to the PW, the P90 control logic relies on a closed loop regulation of the pump.

The control systems brain is the ECU (SD-Easy or SD-CT), which sends PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signals to the two mains
control solenoid valves that pilot the servo cylinder of the pump.
The exact position of the pump swashplate is tracked by a Hall effect feedback potentiometer whose inputs are constantly processed
by the ECU to reach a very high pump displacement control accuracy.

To satisfy the specific needs of each application
Controls without Feedback - Safety and Ease of Use:
Pump controls without feedback set the pump displacement proportionally to the operator
setting, but the result obtained may be altered by the load of the application.
Therefore, for the same command setting, the speed of the machine will vary depending on
the load or the slope for a travel drive.
These pump controls allow the user to drive his machine without fear of stalling the engine.
The absence of feedback offers a natural power limitation and antistall function: pump displa-
cement is naturally dependent on the circuit load.

Automotive control - Simplicity and Safety of Use:


The automotive control allows the machine to drive like a car with an automatic gearbox. It
sets the pump displacement proportionally to the speed of the internal combustion engine.
The result is progressive and accurate control of the drive speed using the internal combus-
tion engine accelerator and a forward-neutral-reverse shift control, therefore a simple and
intuitive interface.

In addition, the automotive control protects the components by automatically regulating


power and serves as an anti-stall function.

Controls with Feedback - Precision Handling:


The feedback corrects the displacement variations due to the variable load of the application
(pressure variations in the circuit). As such, the machine speed is maintained whatever the
slope and the load of the application. This ensures a high degree of accuracy during use.

PMV0 with through shaft
Perfectly designed to feed the transmission circuit of small compactors, the PMV0 pump
has already proven to be highly successful amongst Poclain Hydraulics customers.

The PMV0 is now also available with a through shaft. When an engine needs to directly
drive a tool (such as a vibration system) it becomes possible to assemble on line engine,
pump and driving pulley without the need for an extra pulley system to drive the pump.

For the customer, this represents a real opportunity for integration and cost reductions.
This optional extra is of interest for small-size compactors, and in particular the walk
behind rollers market, but also for mowers and small tractors, which require a secondary
mechanical transmission.

Anti-skidding valves
To control wheel slippage of hydrostatic self-propelled machines in rough terrain conditions, Poclain Hydraulics has developed two
solutions that allow good traction control and maintain outstanding vehicle gradeability. The benefits are:

- synchronization of wheel speed to avoid soil damage


- optimized machine performance and stability
- reduced fuel consumption, and
- increased tire life (reduced wear)

Twin-Lock valves
Twin-Lock is a unique proactive hydraulic traction control that automatically transfers torque to the wheels with the
greatest ground adhesion. Since it eliminates the need for flow dividers, it dramatically reduces the heat generation and
horsepower loss of conventional traction control systems.
Twin-Lock operate through a unique combination of serial and parallel connection between wheel motors.
The Twin-Lock valves prevent excessive pressure build-up in the serial lines, for instance when steering.

SmartDrive Off-Road valves


SmartDrive Off Road is an electronically managed traction control, which operates to restrict flow only when slippage
is detected, by using wheel speed sensors for splippage detection and proportional valves for flow throttle. Entirely pro-
grammable, the system easily accommodates varying pump displacements and vehicle steering geometry to offer optimal
performance. SmartDrive Off Road can be installed by OEMs on production vehicles or offered as a conversion kit (Poclain
Hydraulics motors just need to be eqipped with a pre-disposition for a speed sensor).

Flow divider controls the speed between wheels of the same axle or between different axles by dividing or combining the flow.

Freewheeling valves
In an assist drive circuit, hydraulics motors are engaged when traction is needed, for instance, in rough terrain condition (work mode).
At high speed (road mode) when traction condition are good, motors can be disengaged.
The freewheeling valve connects the high pressure ports of the motor to tank and allows pistons to stay retracted inside the cylinder-
block: the motor is then freewheeled.
A pump by-pass option is of interest if the pump is dedicated to the assist drive function.

On-Demand all-Wheel drive for truck
AddiDrive system is an additional hydrostatic transmission, which offers a
better mobility for trucks in difficult driving conditions such as mud, snow,
sand, and slopes downhill or uphill.

It consists of a hydraulic transmission in addition to the standard mecha-


nical transmission which automatically transfers torque to a hydraulically
driven axle, only when a complement of traction is needed.

This hydraulic assist drive fitted on the front or rear axle is an energy effi-
cient alternative to mechanical all-wheel drive because no drag losses take
place when Addidrive is deactivated.

VB / VFR

Steering assist valves

The VB-0B0 and VB-0D0 valves feature a double brake pedal (left and right) and allows:
- Steering assist braking (right/left) for field work (U-turn capability by braking the inner rear wheel) with two circuit selectors each
associated with one of the pedals.
- Service braking when both pedals are mechanically linked (road mode).

The VB-0D0 valve differences vs VB-0B0:


- VB-0D0 is a double circuit steering assist brake valve, acting on brake in rear and front axles.
- VB-0D0 always allows independent braking in case of circuit leakage on one of the axles.

Trailer brake valves

The trailer brake valves allow to apply the trailer Brake pressure based on the tractor brake pressure.

Poclain Hydraulics offers two products:


- VFR-0HX is a hydraulic valve piloted by the tractor brake pressure.
- VFR-0EX is an electro-hydraulic valve that is piloted by the tractors ECU.

The trailer brake valve also supplies flow to the tractor accumulators (for tractor service and parking braking circuit) and
to auxiliary equipment.
It is equipped with a priority spool in order to supply the tractor accumulator as priority.

Installed on a computer running a Windows OS and connected to a SD-CT 200/300 ECU via its USB/CAN-bus adapter, the PHASES-CT
software can be used to carry out configuration, optimization and maintenance operations for the hydrostatic transmission systems in
the best possible ergonomic conditions.

With your CAN bus control (Master ECU), the PWe pump can be used
as a slave unit and allows you to benefit from the accuracy of the PWe

swashplate control without changing your main control.
ECU
The integrated ECU on the PWe pump can be easily controlled by CAN as
it is 100% compliant with the J1939 standard.

The master ECU sends the command at which it wants to set the pump
and the PWe adjust the swashplate accordingly. The CAN messages
redundancy allows for safe control of the pump.

The PWe pump can also provide the plugged sensors physical and elec-
trical values (temperature, pressure, speed) via CAN bus to the master
ECU.
