COMMENTS: (strengths, areas for growth, next steps):

Alexis has had a very successful practicum. Alexis brought a wealth of knowledge and interesting and current
ideas to share with the students and enhance our classroom environment!

Each lesson plan was thoroughly thought out and planned well in advance. She found opportunities in all
subject areas to incorporate a variety of learning styles and to have students actively participating in their
learning, for example, science labs, model cells, mannequin challenge, film festival and historical
monologues. She has developed strategies to include accommodations for students on IEP's and different
learning needs. Her lessons for science included the right amount of instruction and student based inquiry.
She willingly took on subject areas that were not in her initial comfort zone, demonstrating a willingness to
challenge herself. In Physical Education, she is a natural. Her voice, body language, and lesson progressions
proved very successful.

Alexis is intuitive about student's needs. She is able to quickly assess when student's require additional
assistance or support. She shows her commitment to student learning through her time spent sitting down
with students who struggle to initiate a task and in coaching our junior volleyball team.

She has learned the importance and effectiveness of assessment for, as and of learning. She has embedded
this in many of her lesson plans. She has used a variety of strategies and tools to help the students learn
from past work, understand the current success criteria and continues to develop strategies on how to move
students forward in future learning activities.

Her presence, voice and body language allowed for great classroom management. She was able to get, hold
and keep the student's attention throughout each lesson. She was always aware when students were off task
or not being attentive. She often tried to engage these students by using them in her demonstrations.

Alexis was very receptive to constructive feedback and continually tried to learn from this experience, her
associate teacher and colleagues. She was always professional and used effective questioning to ensure
clarity and that ideas are shared with students and others.

Alexis is ready for the classroom! Learners and potential employers would be lucky to have such a dynamic
team player as part of their team!
