Main Activity:
Main Activity Part 1: Assessment
o This class period is geared toward assessing the skills of the
bump and set they have learned up to this point.
They will each be given a task sheet.
Task 1 is to set the ball to themselves with the wall at least
5 consecutive times then record it on the task sheet.
Once they complete this I will bring them back in and for
Task 2 they will be partnered up and each perform 5
consecutive bump passes with their partners and record it
in the task sheet.
Main Activity Part 2: Game Play
o Allow the students to participate in a volleyball game for the
remainder of the class period. Have them focus on the correct
form of their bump and set rather than fuss over all the details
and rules of an actual volleyball game. They can keep score but
its okay if they double hit or if it gets hit more than 3 times on
each side.
o if you are teaching this at a high school level you can incorporate
more rules
o Teams of 6-8
