incidentsinAmericaandhaddoubtedwhethertheyshouldstayinthecountry,butherhusbandsaidthatassuredhersayingthat"goodthingshappen

ConsulGeneralofIndiainHoustonAnupamRayissupervisingthecurrentsituationandprovidingallpossiblehelpforthegrievingfamilyandthe
communityinOlatheareaofKansas.

"Immediatelywhentheincidentoccurred,ConsulaterushedDeputyConsulRDJoshiandViceConsulHSinghtoKansastobewiththefamilyof
Srinivasatthistryingmoment,"Raysaid.

Eversince,theyhavebeenwiththefamilyofSrinivasandhaveassuredSunaynaofallpossiblesupportandhelpatthisgrievingmoment,hesaid.

ConsulJoshialsomettheshockedandfrightenedIndiancommunityinOlatheandAlokMadasaniinjuredintheshootingonWednesdaynight.

Madasaniisnowstableandhasbeendischargedfromthehospital.Athirdperson,anAmericanmanidentifiedasIanGrillot,24,whotriedto
intervenealsoreceivedinjuriesinthefiringatAustinsBarandGrillinOlatheinKansasCityintheUSstateofMissouri.

AUniversityofKansasHospitalspokeswomansaidheisinfaircondition.

TheincidentevokedoutragefromintheUSandIndiawithExternalAffairsMinisterSushmaSwarajexpressingshockovertheincident.

"IamshockedattheshootingincidentinKansasinwhichSrinivasKuchibhotlahasbeenkilled.Myheartfeltcondolencestobereavedfamily,"she
saidinatweetyesterday.

Theshooter,AdamPurinton,reportedlygotintoanargumentwiththevictimsinthetermsofracism,andshouted"getoutofmycountry","terrorist"
beforeshootingthem.

Hereportedlyprovokedthemintoanargumentaskingabouttheirpresenceandworkinhiscountry,andhowtheyarebetterthanhim.

Accordingtopolice,Purintonleftthebaraftertheargumentandthenreturnedwithagunandshotthethreemen.

HewasarrestedonThursday,fivehoursaftertheincidentandchargedwithonecountofpremeditatedfirstdegreemurderandtwocountsof
attemptedpremeditatedfirstdegreemurderinJohnsonCounty,Kansas,DistrictAttorneyStephenHowetoldreporters.

Howe,however,declinedtoelaborateonthemotiveoftheincident,althoughlocalpolicesaidtheywereworkingwiththeFBItoinvestigatethecase.

TheFBIwaslookingatwhetheritwasahatecrime.AnFBIspokespersonsaidagentsandpolicecanvassedtheareaonThursdayandthe
investigationcontinuedyesterday.

Someeyewitnesseshavesaidtheattackwasraciallymotivated.OnebystandertoldtheKansasCityStarthatthegunmanshouted"getoutofmy
country"beforeshootingtheIndianvictims.

"Unfortunately,twoassociatesonourAviationSystemsEngineeringteam,SrinivasKuchibhotlaandAlokMadasani,wereshot.Wearedevastatedto
informyouthatSrinivaspassedawayandAlokiscurrentlyrecoveringinthehospital,"Garminsaid.

KuchibhotlaandMadasanihailedfromHyderabadandWarangalrespectively.KuchibhotlapostedonLinkedInin2014thathemanagedhelicopter
programmes.Hehadamaster'sdegreeinelectricalandelectronicsengineeringfromtheUniversityofTexasatElPaso.
