Sketching Problem
1. V-Block
Description: The V-block is used in machine shops to hold a shaft (cylindrical stock). The V
notches can hold shafts of different diameter firmly without causing dents on the shafts.
Grading criteria:
a. Create the part such that the default isometric view is the view shown at below.
b. The part is symmetrical about all three datum planes.
c. Use only the dimensions shown here in creating the sketch and make sure that the
sketch is fully defined.

-All dimensions in mm
-Extruded depth = 40 mm

2. Alignment Plate
Description: The alignment plate is used to align or register two adjacent parts. One part has a
curved surface, the other a notch.
Grading criteria:
a. Create the part such that the default isometric view is the view shown at below.
b. The part is symmetrical about Side and Front datum planes.
c. The Top plane is coincident with the center of the top arc.
d. Place the origin where shown.
e. The hole sizes change together.
f. Use only the dimensions shown here in creating the sketch and make sure that the
sketch is fully defined.

-All dimensions in mm
-Extruded depth = 10 mm

Grading criteria:

a. Create the part such that the default isometric view is the view shown at right.
b. Place the origin where shown.
c. The part is symmetrical about the Front plane.
d. The hole sizes change together.
e. Use only the dimensions shown here in creating the sketch and make sure that the

and secured with the two mounting holes.
Grading criteria:

a. Create the part such that the default isometric view is the view shown below.
b. The origin is located at the center of the two concentric arc.
c. The part is symmetrical about the Front plane.
d. The hole sizes change together.
e. Use only the dimensions shown here in creating the sketch and make sure that the

hard object. Tuning forks are used to tune instruments or provides a starting note for a
choir.
Grading criteria:
