How Has Waste Management Changed
Throughout History?
Many places from all over the world have established organized waste
collection and landfill programs. By the 1900s the streets in America
had garbage trucks. Dumps were then used as a waste disposal method.
Changes in the society led to waste management. In the past few years,
the solid waste industry came up with a new technologies, such as
recycling. Nowadays we are able to reuse things and reduce waste by
helping out in communities.
So What Can We Do?
We need to be extremely careful with products and
materials we buy and use.
Before throwing anything away, look for things that
can be re- used.
Make posters encouraging people to pick up any trash
seen in our community.
Protect the environment and gain money! You can
save recyclable things and take it to a recycling center
in exchange of money.
Separate different kinds of waste using different trash
bags to prevent contamination.
