FIBREGLASS
Fibreglass is a glass of liquid drawn into fibers with a thin
center line of approximately 0.005 mm - 0.01 mm. The fiber
can be spun into yarn or woven into a fabric, which is then
impregnated with resin, making the material strong and
resistant towards corrosion and possible to be used as car
body and building ships. Its also used as a reinforcing agent
for many products of plastic ; composite material produced
is known as reinforced plastic-glass (glass-reinforced
plastic, GRP) or epoxy reinforced glass-fiber (GRE), is called
"fiberglass" in general usage.

The characteristics of fibreglass

The density is quite low (about 2.55 g / cc)
Its tensile strength is quite high (about 1.8 GPa)
Its stiffness is rather low (70GPa)
Good dimensional stability
Good resistance of high and low temperature
Corrosion-resist
The general composition of fibreglass is 50-60% SiO2 and other alloys, namely Al, Ca, Mg, Na, and others.

The Applications of Fibreglass on Ceiling
1) Pressed ceiling panels
Fibreglass pressed
ceiling panel is an innovation
made to replace the old-
fashioned, expensive, and
inefficient tin pressed ceiling . It
combines strength and stiffness
with lightness. Fibreglass
pressed ceiling absorbs sound,
resulting in improved acoustics
in the room in which it is placed.
It is an effective insulator,
eliminating huge heating and air-
conditioning costs by making a
room cool in cold or warm
weather.

2) Fibreglass ceiling tiles

Ceiling tiles attach directly to an existing drywall or plaster ceiling and offer an
affordable way to add beauty and appeal when designing virtually any room in your home. Fiberglass
Ceilings are also available in unique visuals like shapes and blades, and available in a broad range of
textures, sizes and colors.
Installation

need to place a plywood underlayment as of an existing ceiling. This type of installation is

clips, no grid is required. Another method to install
ceiling tiles is by using adhesive.
