IV. Implementation
A. Introduction
Student need to bring Economic Packet, S.S. Textbook, and ABC
book to the carpet.
Ask students, Last week we talked a little about resources, can
someone tell me about the two different types? Answer should be
nonrenewable and renewable.
Today we are going to be talking more about the resources in our
community, and how our community has changed over the years.

B. Development
Read pages 44-47.
1. Write into ABC books highlighted words.
Pass out resources chart.
1. Project on screen
After reading, discuss about what the students have found out about
Lake Nockamixon.
1. Tell students how the lake changed the environment for the
good and for the bad.
Pass out resources chart.
1. Project on screen
Fill in resources chart and about Lake Nockamixon.
See answer key in book on page 47 in manual.
1. Really discuss about nonrenewable resources and how it is
important to save them.

C. Closure
Tell students they will have an exit ticket to tell me what their
opinion is on saving nonrenewable resources. Students will have
today and tomorrow to finish writing their opinion. This will be a
grade, therefore explain that capitols and punctuation matter. Make
sure they are giving reasons, details, and examples, just like in
writing.
Collect exit ticket, and have students pack up for the day.
