Witches in the Periods of the Warring States,the Qin and the Han Dynasties

Abstract: (1) The witches had played an important role in social life during the period from the Warring
States to the Qin and the Han dynasty. The witches not only played crafts in the court, but went deep
everywhere in the society, which were their vast performing stages. (2) The ceremony of the witchcraft
praying for rains represented the religious culture making way through the services of giving scope to it
influences replacing the mendality and the view of nature of the men of the time. (3) The witches serving in
army as we can find in historical materials evidenced the mysticism had gone deep in military thought and
practice. (4)In the Eastern Han Dynasty, the development of the witches, the persons, and witchcrafts, its
culture and influences went so far as to endanger the normal development of social economy and culture,
that there many political writers couldnt being kept silence. (5) An analysis of the existence of the witch as a
special role in society in the period from the Warring States to the Qin and the Han Dynasties will serve as a
supplement for us to understand the history of the society of the time.
