We reiterate the Process flow of Scholarship Amount Disbursement for your immediate
reference please.

As you know, Canara Bank has been designated by UGC as the Nodal Bank for disbursing
your scholarship amount directly in your Canara Bank Account. As per the laid down
procedure, the scholarships would be disbursed based on the certificates submitted by the
scholars on a periodical basis at the designated branches of Canara Bank. We are furnishing
the process flow of your Scholarship Disbuursement in your account with a view that you
know the basic structure of Canara Bank / UGC working and could avail the benefit of credit
in your account:-

Process flow

1. On selection of beneficiaries, UGC will send the Scholars/ Beneficiaries master

data to Canara Bank.
2. Canara Bank will upload the Scholars / Beneficiaries data to the web portal.
3. Canara Bank has designated specific branches across the country as point of
 contact for the Scholars / Beneficiaries. The uploaded master data is accessible to
the designated branches through a secured web based interface.
4. Scholars / Beneficiaries are free to open their SB Account in any of the Canara
Bank Branch across India. However, their Documents are required to be uploaded at
Canara Bank Designated Branch only as per their convenience. URL for the

5. Scholars / Beneficiaries will approach the designated branches and will submit
their Bank account number/AADHAAR number and also submit the certificates such
as Joining certificate, Continuation certificate, Utilization certificates ,HRZ certificates
etc. periodically as specified by UGC.
6. Designated branches will update the details such as Bank account
number/AADHAAR number etc. in the web portal. Also branches will upload the
certificates on the web portal as submitted by the beneficiaries.
7. Canara Bank web portal will send the beneficiary details updated with Acccount
Numbers/IFSC Code/AADHAAR Numbers to the Public Finance Management System
(PFMS) i.e. Portal of Government of India for registration of the Scholars /
Beneficiaries
8. Canara Bank will now receive the successful registration details of Scholars /
Beneficiaries from the PFMS system. After receiving the successful registration of
Scholars / Beneficiaries from above Government System i.e. PFMS, Canara Bank Web
Portal will now generate the payment files based on the certificates uploaded by the
branches and will send the generated payment files to UGC through PFMS only on
monthly basis.
9. UGC officials will now access the payment files through PFMS system and will
digitally sign the payment files.
10. After that the digitally signed payment files will be sent back to the Canara Bnk
system. Only after receiving the digitally signed payment files from UGC ,Canara
Bank will initiate payments to the Scholars / Beneficiaries SB Account.

To facilitate the submission of certificates we have designated 433 branches across the
country, the list of which is available in the website and the URL for the same is given as
below.

We request you to approach any of the designated Canara Bank Branch as per your
convenience and submit the required certificates / documents so as to enable us to disburse
the payments duly adopting the above process flow.

Kindly bear in mind the above process flow of Canara Bank / UGC and enable us to work as
your Banker for this prestigious assignment.
