Theres not much to say about this movie actually. When I see the opening
credits and Walt Disney Pictures name was on it, Im already sure that this
movie wont be disappointing. From Disney creative writer-director Don
Hall and Chris Williams, Big Hero 6 is a cheerful and sad feature that won
an Oscar that year. It tells a story of Hiro Hamada, a young robotics
prodigy who forms a superhero team to combat a masked villain. With his
brother who died in a fire accident trying to rescue his lecturer, his brother
left Hiro a legacy, a robot, that nowadays people know as Baymax. The
character Baymax has stuck in peoples mind since its release. With the
launching of all kinds of merchandise such as toys, T-shirts, mobile phone
case with Baymax in it. Baymax is so likeable that will make you wanna
take it home and just hug and squish him all day long. And not to mention
the sad elements in the movie shown in the early and final parts of the
movie. What lesson that I get from this movie is that it teaches you a lot
about love and friendship. Although Im a little aware about the similarity
of the plot to Brad Birds The Iron Giant (1999). Directed by now a big
figure in Pixar this movie has a similar plot such as the relationship of a
young boy and a friendly robot, the way that this robot sacrifice himself
for the love of humans, and of course the ending in which it is shown that
the robot might still be alive or survive the crash that everybody thought
has killed them. With great animation provided by the studio, I couldnt
find any flaw in the technical elements. An okay soundtrack by Fall Out
Boys to this movie, great voice cast, probably the only thing that made
me feel this movie a little unoriginal is the similarities of the plot to The
Iron Giant. It feels like Im watching a rip-off of The Iron Giant. But luckily it
is a well-made movie. I can only give a huge applause to Disney for doing
it again. All and all, Big Hero 6 is a good animated movie that you should
take your kids to and beware of the cuteness of Baymax that could haunt
you for weeks. And also prepare some tissue because this could be a tear-
jerking movie to those who are easily affected by its melancholy. And yeah
Im looking forward to other Walt Disney movies in near future.
