Our children are naturally inquisitive and are starting to make ramps and building things out of magnets to
support their play. We will be exploring how simple machines can be used. We will learn about how they
were invented to make our lives easier. Our trip to the Museum of Science and Industry helped us
experience some of the simple machines and their uses in different settings.

Please send in some simple machines we can find at home (e.g. lemon squeezers, nail clippers, garlic
press, tongs, tweezers, screw top bottles, hammer, bottle opener) You can also send in books or pictures
that have simple machines on it(door handle, bicycles, wheelbarrow, flag poles, fishing poles etc.)
