The subject is composed of four independent exercises. Applicants must address a
ll the exercises. In each exercise, the candidate may accept a result previously
given in the text to address the following questions, if clearly stated on the
copy. The candidate is invited to appear on the copy all traces of research, eve
n incomplete or not successful, it has developed. It is recalled that the qualit
y of writing, clarity and accuracy of reasoning come for a significant part in a
ssessing copies.

EXERCISE 1: (4 points) Common to all candidates the two issues of this exercise
are independent. 1) Consider the sequence (a) defined by u0 = 1 and 1 for any na
