Dances

_______________________________________________________ Frevo
Street dance and lounge, is the great delusion of the carnival in Pernambuco. Th
is is a march of syncopated rhythms, haunting, violent and frantic, which is its
main feature. And the crowd waving, swaying in dance, it is boiling. And it was
this idea of boiling (the people pronounce frevura, frever, etc..), Which creat
ed the name frevo. The first thing that characterizes the Frevo is being, not a
dance collective, a group, a string, a parade, but the crowd itself, adhering to
all who hear, as if a current passed by all electric. Is also danced in the hal
l, like walking, notwithstanding that sometimes the pairs fall apart in a circle
, whose center is a dancer, forced to make a letter (one step or one gatimônia
any) after that is replaced by another and so on. Frevo is a march, with the div
ision in binary and progress similar to the Rio carnival song, heavier and with
a noisy and vigorous implementation and strident fanfare. In it the rhythm is ev
erything, after all their own essence, while marching in the prevalence is melod
ic. It is divided into two parts and their motives are always presented in dialo
gues with trombones and clarinets and saxophones pistons. Midfielder Mario says
frevo was the polka-march and was Captain José Lourenço da Silva (Zuzinha), as

The great interest of Frevo is in its choreography ... Frevo appeared in 1909 o
n the testimony of Pereira da Costa (Renato Almeida, Brazilian Musical History,

mobility keeps Pernambuco (clover is being shed by Brazil) to feature personal,
instinctive, improvisational and very personal variability. Clover is always dan
ced to the sound of marching-frevos typical. The presence of clover in the halls
, clubs carnival is later than 1917. This year, I attended the first carnival in
Recife, was in almost all dances, accompanying friends prestigious, and only fo
