1 Modules and Parts
MTRB consists of transmitter, receiver, local oscillator and base band processor. Main
functions of MTRB are as follows:
y Receives the system clock from CMB and generates a clock which is necessary for
the module.
3
GBC_024_E0_0 ZXG10-M8206 Description
y Implements and saves hardware management ID, such as; Rack ID, Slot ID, Board
function type, and Board version.
y Receives CMB power ON/OFF signal and implement power ON/OFF function of
the module.
y Supports online update and loading of software version. In addition, upgrades the
programmable device version.
y Monitors the working state of module. Collects real time alarm signals and report
to the main control board CMB.
MPAU is power amplifying unit and amplifies the downlink signal power. MPAU
consists of two power amplifier boards which are installed on the bottom of base station
cabinet respectively.
MPAU includes two power amplifier boards that correspond to two input carrier signals
respectively. These two carrier signals are outputted via a connector that consists of
circulator and SMA. There are two SMA input ports and two SMA output ports on the
power amplifier board of M8206 BTS.
This unit works as a duplexer and consists of transceiver duplexer, antenna interface
VSWR detection unit and Low Noise Amplifier (LNA). It detects VSWR alarms in three
levels which are:
y VSWR 3.0

RTU connectors include one 4-core power supply socket, one 20-cores socket and two
N-connectors. Four optical ports and one network interface are reserved on side panel. If
two units share one cabinet, then seal the connectors by waterproof plug as they are not
in use.

The description of connectors on the top and bottom of RTU panel is as follows:
These connectors are used to connect RTU with antenna. They transmit and
receive signals from the antenna through the antenna feeder cable.
y DPCT
y POWER
y HIGHWAY
It is an 8 M HW interface.
Table 1.3-1 gives a detail of indicators and buttons on the RTU panel.

GBC_024_E0_0 ZXG10-M8206 Description
CIFB implements the signal conversion between CMB and the bottom interface.
8
1 Modules and Parts
y Provides 8 channels E1/T1 interfaces, but only 5 channels are used in this system.
y Supports near end and far end network management interface. Near end network
interface is 10BaseT Ethernet network management interface.
y Its front panel provides reset button and forced power OFF button.
y Provides link bypass function for E1/T1 channels during the power down of
cascading system (i.e. channel A bypass to channel C).

PWR provide -48 V DC power to different parts of the CTU. For example it provides -48
V DC to CMB, Heater and T150 transmission unit. Fig 1.4-2 shows the power system of
CTU.

y AC220/-48 IN
y -48 OUT
y RELAY_ALM
Interface for the relay alarm system present in the base of the cabinet.
y SYN_CLK
y LMT
It is used for the local maintenance and operation of the BTS by connecting this
port with the PC.
These are 8MHW interface for the point to point connection of CTU with RTUs.
Table 1.5-1 shows the description of indicators and buttons on the CTU panel.

4 External Combiner Unit (ECU)
ZXG10 M8206 contains an External Combiner Unit (ECU). It combines the antenna RF
signals and provides interface between RTU and Antenna. -40 dB output of coupler at
combiner is used for DPCT output power detection and phase calibration.
ECU consists of 2-to-1 combiner and 1-to-2 divider. Fig 4-2 shows the block diagram of
ECU.
Communication of ECU with the RTU and Antenna is shown in Fig 4-3.
