(b) A helix travelling wave tube is operated with a beam current of 300 mA,
beam voltage of 5 KW and characteristic impedance of 200 ohm. What

7. (a) With a neat block diagram explain the power radio method for measuring
attenuation in a microwave signal. (8)
(b) ' A microwat e signal is modulated by a rectangular pulse of width 1 ps.
If the average power is 200 W and the puise repetition rate is 500 pulses
per second. Calculate the value of peak power. (7)
