Abstract
Using a force table, three strings were attached with a ring in the middle. At the end of each
of the strings, corresponding weight holders were put. The weights were balanced to obtain a
specific magnitude and direction for each of the three concurrent forces. Resultant forces
were obtained by using the component method.

II. Guide Questions

1. -
2. If three concurrent forces are in equilibrium, what is the relation between any one of the
three forces and the resultant of the other two forces?
- Any of the force will have the same magnitude and opposite in direction to the
resultant force of the other two forces. The sum would be zero and equilibrium will be
achieved.

4. Use the component method to find the magnitude and direction of the resultant of the
following forces:

Given x-component y-component

A = 2000 N at 0 2000.00 0.00
B = 1500 N at 60 750.00 1299.04
C = 1000 N at 150 -866.03 500.00
D = 3800 N at 225 -2687.01 -2687.996
-803.03 -887.967
