CAMP RULES & REGULATIONS

SECTION 1 Accommodations
All occupants shall check in through the camp Reception Office on
arrival and check out via same when relinquishing.
Camp Occupants shall be allocated, in good order and clean
condition, towels, mattress cover, pillow, pillow slip, pair of sheets
and a blanket. Failure to leave these items in full will result in the
occupants department or contractor being charged for the cost of
replacement
Camp Occupants shall be issued a room key and meal card. These
items shall be returned by the occupant to the Camp Office before
departure from the camp. Failure to return these items to the Camp
Office will result in the occupants department being charged for the
cost of replacement.
Urinating in the camp area outside of the facilities shall be cause for
removal from the camp area.
Using the provided seated toilets as a squat toilet shall be cause for
removal from the camp area.
Lost keys shall be immediately reported to the camp office, where a
new key shall be issued. In this event, a charge of K10 shall be made
for each replacement to cover the cost of the key and labour. This
shall be back charged to the occupants department or contractor.
Personal belongings are the responsibility of the occupant. It is not
advisable to leave valuables and money in rooms. Individual lockers
shall be provided, however the employee must provide his own lock.
Unauthorized cooking in the camp area, including rooms, is not
permitted. Food is not permitted in the rooms.
The Camp Manager and OSL officials reserves the right to inspect the
rooms from time to time during reasonable hours in order to ensure
that the rooms are properly cleaned and maintained and that the
Rules and Regulations are being adhered to by the occupants.
Privately owned electrical equipment which, in the opinion of the
maintenance electrician, is dangerous shall be disconnected and the
owner shall be required to ensure that it is not used until rendered
safe. All electrical equipment will need to be inspected and tagged by
Maintenance and approved by HSES.
No alterations shall be made to any room furniture.
No appliances or fixtures shall be affixed to the walls that require the
drilling of holes or that result in permanently defacing the surface.
Unapproved visitors shall not be permitted access to accommodation
areas. No person other than those employed by Operations or those
who have the specific approval of the Camp Manager shall be allowed
to stay in the camp.
In the interest of all residents, noise levels shall be kept to a
minimum. Any activities creating excessive noise in the vicinity of the
sleeping quarters are forbidden.
Each occupant shall be responsible for keeping his allocated quarters
neat and orderly between regular services. To expedite room
cleaning, loose items and clothing shall not be left on the floor.
The occupant shall not remove or tamper with smoke detectors fitted
to rooms. The occupant shall report any known malfunction to the
smoke detector.
Visitations by residents to rooms of the opposite sex are strictly
forbidden.
All complaints are to be referred to the Camp Manager or the
Services Department. Complaints are not to be made directly to the
room attendants or laundry staff.

SECTION 2- Messing Facilities


Meal and ID cards must be shown at all times.
All persons using the dining hall shall be clean and reasonably attired
in a T-shirt (not singlets), appropriate length shorts or long trousers
and footwear. Greasy clothes will not be permitted. Thongs or
slippers are not permitted.
Dining hours shall be strictly observed and meals shall not be served
outside these hours, unless specifically authorized for particular
reasons such as emergency overtime.
Meals or any foodstuff (with the exception of crib lunches, pop corn,
fruit and ice cream), crockery, cutlery, glasses or other mess
equipment shall not be removed from the dining hall. Doing so will
result in a warning from the Camp Manager.
All complaints regarding services performed and the food provided by
the Caterer shall be referred to the Camp Manager, Service
Supervisor or camp occupants employer. Complaints shall not be
made to the catering staff. Catering employees shall not be insulted,
provoked or in any other way prevented from carrying out their
duties.

SECTION 3 Firefighting Equipment


Firefighting equipment is strategically placed in the camps and shall
only be used for its intended purpose. The equipment is provided for
the safety of residents. Any person found interfering with the fire
extinguishers or other fire fighting equipment shall be removed from
the camp immediately without further warning. Any fire extinguisher
that is discharged for any reason shall be brought to the attention of
the Camp Manager immediately.
SECTION 4 - Health
All OSL employees and contractors are expected to maintain a high
standard of personal hygiene. Instances of illness, injury or infectious
disease whether real or suspected shall be reported immediately to
the Camp Manager.

SECTION 5 Safety
All OSL employees and contractors must abide by the Safety
Procedures established for Operations. Any willful or negligent act
that endangers the safety of others will result in the immediate and
permanent removal of the resident from the camp.
Safety is every residents responsibility and unsafe conditions or
practices observed by the residents shall be reported to the Camp
Manager.

SECTION 6- General behavior


All residents shall comply with PNG Laws which prohibits such things
as: organized gambling, consumption or sale of narcotics or other
illegal activities. Conducting such activities shall result in the removal
of persons involved from the camp area whether or not this conduct
has been the subject of police action.
All OSL company facilities and camps shall be operated as dry
facilities. No unauthorized alcoholic beverages shall be allowed on
the premises. Persons found in possession of or under the influence
of an alcoholic beverage or illegal drug shall be removed from the
camp.
The chewing of or possession of betulnut is strictly forbidden in the
camp area. Any resident found to be in infringement of this rule will
be removed from the camp.
Fighting within OSL company facilities and camps will result in both
parties involved, regardless of the innocent party, being immediately
removed from the camp regardless of police action. Horseplay and
practical jokes shall not be tolerated.
Unauthorized removal of or deliberate damage to any camp
equipment, property or supplies as well as outright theft shall result
in the offender immediate removal from the camp and possible
punishment under applicable local law.

SECTION 6- General Provisions


Identification tags/ badges must be carried at all times. Badges must
be shown upon request by the Camp Manager, Security or OSL
representative.
All persons entering or leaving the camp area must submit to an
inspection of luggage or other parcels at the request of the security
guard. Any vehicles entering or leaving the camp area is also subject
to inspection. Refusal to allow such inspection is grounds for
immediate and permanent removal from the camp.
Possession of any animal, domesticated or wild in the camp premises
is prohibited. Interference with flora and fauna in the camp could
result in the removal of offenders from the camp areas.
Littering the camp areas in and around the accommodation is
prohibited and will result in an initial warning. A further infringement
will, result in removal of the occupant from the camp.
Pornography, sexually explicit or culturally offensive material shall
not be displayed in the accommodation and camp areas. Possession
or display of these items will result in the removal of the occupant
from the camp.
