With the arrival of the new millennium, our region confronts great challenges of
development, as well as environmental deterioration. Nonetheless, there is long path to
follow; and there have been significant improvements in diverse areas. Starting from the
Conference at Rio in 1992, the international community has set goals and objectives
towards development based on environmental sustainability criteria. Achieving
agriculture production sustainability led to resort in improved methods to take
advantage of natural resources available to avoid depredation and degradation of the
environment which the agro-industry ought to necessarily implement for the
optimization production process. On the other hand, the consumer sector ought to fulfill
an efficient utilization of products and services. Finally, the governmental sector is
responsible for the implementation of politics that safeguard the conservation of the
environment, providing an appropriate legal framework with supervision and audits for
guaranteeing compliance. The current investigation work is referred to RAI process,
(Revisin Ambiental Inicial or Initial Environmental Assessment); of which every
company and organization evaluate their performance with respect to the surrounding
environment. The ample analysis encompasses a selection of areas of interest which
includes impacts and activities with consequences over the environment. The
investigation has the main objective to propose the Initial Environmental Assessment in
order to enhance management of Oil Palm Plantation (Elaeis Guineensis) in the
Hacienda La Glorieta, Municipality of Coln, Zulia State. The study was justified
given the relevance in the social, economic and environment areas. Considering the
environmental problems affecting the global climate, is necessary to reflect how to slow
down the environmental degradation; for which this proposal is directed to enhance
from an integral perspective the management of oil palm plantation. This project is
viewed from an investigation level of exploratory type and at the same time the project
is a field work. The modality corresponding to a feasible project and investigation
design is not experimental of the trans-sectional type.
