Online shopping or e-shopping is a form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly
buy goods or services from a seller over the Internet using a web browser.

The system accepts the customers submission of a purchase order for the item in response to a time of

item selected by the customer is picked from inventory but before it is delivered.

Background
This system has been developed for One Shop. The current system is a manual system. In order to
overcome the drawbacks in the current system a decision to automate some of the departments of the
Shop

The system was developed once the necessary feasibility study and technical feasibility were
conducted. Firstly the requirements of the users were assimilated. The users were made aware of the
advantages in adopting the automated process and also reassured that the automation process would
not lead to retrenchment. In the long run the benefits for the company and what these would mean for
the employees was explained. The management also concurred with this point of view.

Development model

Development Model

Our software lifecycle model is a WATERFALL MODEL with the characteristic of PROTOTYPING MODEL.
Unlike the original waterfall model, our model has an evaluation stage where our group members will
evaluate the product after construction and discuss the feedback. If the product is found to have some
flows and still can be refined, it will be rejected and back to the modelling stage. If the product is good
enough to be deployed, it will pass the evaluation stage and go into the deployment stage.

We choose waterfall model as our main model because this classic life cycle model is more systematic
and sequential. We prefer to make our product in systematic and sequential way as this is more efficient
and in well order. However, waterfall model has one drawback which is too little customer feedback. To
solve this problem, we introduce customized prototyping model into our waterfall model so we will get
feedback and refine the product before it is deployed.
