Daily Report Pipe Inspection

Date: 25th February 2017

08:00 Arrived at pipe yard
Continued 13.3/8 pipe to completion from joint 62 to 102 done total of 41 Joints
inspected. Also Inspected 16 Joints 9.5/8 We then moved 4 joints 36 CP to an area
to the side to make room for commencing the 9.5/8, we then had to reset our
inspection area, as the pipe is in a different direction. Intend to restow the 9.5/8 in the
area where the 13.3/8 & the 4 joints 36 CP was originally. The stow with the 9.5/8
Casing also has 7 liner (80 Joints) amongst it, and approx 20 joints of 22 Casing
amongst it. I tend to put the 7 Liner in front of the 13.3/8 Casing, so we will be
working to restow two stows so we dont lose any time and we can work without any
stoppages. We experienced some challenges today, in moving the 36 CP.
17:15 Stopped operations.

Observations observed on the joints visually inspected today 13.3/8.

1) They all show signs of corrosion on the outer body of the pipe (8 Joints) Slightly
corroded, (23 Joints) Slightly to Badly corroded (10 Joints) badly corroded.
2) All joints show signs of the exposed thread on the coupling side (Box end) of
bad corrosion.
3) The 5 joints we taken protectors off to internally inspect, only one (the first one
yet) had evidence of dope, was also Visible sign that the dope was running
inside the pipe. The storage dope had liquefied and dissipated from the other 4
joints.

4) All the five joints internally inspected showed some little signs of internal
corrosion visibly seen by small rust flakes, also noticeable a sign of a fluid track
2 showed signs of sweating.

5) Actually, witnessed the Dope running out of one of the protectors as we

loosened it off today (Box End)

Observations observed on the joints visually inspected today 9.5/8.

1) Of the 16 Joints inspected 2 was GOOD no corrosion. (7 Joints) Slightly
corroded, (7 Joints) Slightly to Badly corroded (0 Joints) badly corroded.
2) Only 9 joints show signs of the exposed thread on the coupling side (Box end)
of bad corrosion.
3) The 2 Joints we taken the protectors off to internally inspect (which was a
struggle to get them off) one showed signs of Storage Dope the other it had
liquefied and dissipated this was evident at both box & pin end protectors.
4) Both showed signs of corrosion inside.

08:00 Arrived at pipe.

08:15 Commenced operations made area to put badly corroded Joints.
continued 13.3/8 Casing done from joint 25 to joint 61 total of 37 joints inspected.
Got made new design of homemade calipers seem to be working much better ( thanks
to Soro).

Observations observed on the joints visually inspected today.

1) They all show signs of corrosion on the outer body of the pipe (24 Joints)
Slightly corroded, (4 Joints) Slightly to Badly corroded (9 Joints) badly corroded.
2) All joints show signs of the exposed thread on the coupling side (Box end) of
bad corrosion (See picture)

3) The 5 joints we taken protectors off to internally inspect, the storage dope that
was put on them has liquefied and dissipated.
4) All the five joints internally inspected showed some little signs of internal
corrosion visibly seen by small rust flakes, also noticeable a sign of a fluid track
2 showed signs of sweating.
5) Noticed on the joints today that some of the protectors showing signs of the
Dope been leaking out. (See Picture)

6) Both Serge and myself are starting to notice the pattern of the rust, ie we are
seeing what we can tell was the pipe that was on top of the original stow in the
port (Badly Corroded) and can now visible see the rust streaks and the
pattering as it progressed down the stow of pipe.
7) The protective coating that was originally on the body of the pipe, on the badly
corroded pipe has only remained on the underneath of the joint approximately
the bottom 1/4, on this part you can see the rust streaks as it runs round the
pipe and drops down.

08:45 Arrived at pipe.

The forklift supplied and driver was new to handling pipe.
Done Safety checked of the forklift, Held safety talk with forklift driver, Serge and
myself.
09:30 commenced operations. Established area to lay out dunnage to started to
restow the 13.3/8 pipe first, then established area to lay pipe out to visually inspect
pipe. Unfortunately, not been able to make an area to Segregate the most badly
corroded externally pipe, but hope to establish an area once we have made some
space, (this will mean we may have to double handle the 13.3/8 pipe) We managed to
move and do a visual inspection on 24 joints of 13.3/8 pipe.
Unfortunately, the home made calipers did not work successfully (will try to modify)
Whilst putting the fourth row on the stow, the forklift driver pushed 6 joints off the stow
and they rolled off on to the ground, this caused some delay and time to pick back up
and re-stow.
17:15 Stopped operations.

Observations observed on the joints visually inspected today.

8) They all show signs of corrosion on the outer body of the pipe (11 Joints)
Slightly corroded, (3 Joints) Slightly to Badly corroded (10 Joints) badly
corroded.
9) All joints show signs of the exposed thread on the coupling side ( Box end) of
bad corrosion
10)The 3 joints we taken protectors off to internally inspect, the storage dope that
was put on them has liquefied and dissipated.
11) 2 of the joints internally inspected showed some little signs of internal corrosion
visibly seen by small rust flakes, also noticeable a sign of a fluid track, was not
able to get picture of this as it was inside the pipe.

heavy rust stains still apparent on the ground.

Departed Abidjan 07:00 Arrived San Pedro 15:40

Arrived at new yard 15:55
Had walk round new yard, made preliminary assessment of pipe stowage and
condition. Assessed that we had room to move pipe to restart stowage and
segregation of any damaged/badly corroded pipe and that it would be ok to use forklift
only.
Departed new yard at 16:30 headed to Rialto.
17:10 Meet with Adaman at Rialto to discuss & plan for next morning and for him to go
and organise a forklift for 08:00 start.
