Lifelong learning is an aspect of living which is made for enhancing

leaners abilities, capacity and knowledge. To be a lifelong learner, people

should access to the world individually and socially (Fischer, 2000, p3). There

are three types of lifelong learning and one of them is formal learning. This

type of learning often related to advanced academy and learners are

evaluated with their qualifications and successes. The second form is non-

formal learning which includes developmental evaluation like the first one. In

contrast, it does not relate to academic qualifications. Finally, is informal

learning which is more unconstraint than the others. It does not include

assessments and relate to an academicals (Hyde, & Phillipson, 2015, p5).

There are various reasons why lifelong learning is very important for humans.

Providing new kinds of learning, improving confidence, teaching how to make

quick decisions in crisis are some of them. All these features have positive

effect in people life (Hyde & Phillipson, 2015, p5). For instance, jobs require

their employers to have these kinds of features. They want them to have

experiences and some special abilities or knowledge about the job. Also,

being creative, having skills of problem solving and empathy is crucial.

Therefore, to have these skills people need to be lifelong learners ("What

employers can do", 2017, p8).

Additionally, to be lifelong learner there are some specific characteristics.

First, a lifelong learner need to value options to learn and the second skill is

successfully identifying the abilities, behaviors and so on. The other one is

leaning what to do or not to do from feedbacks and understanding that

making mistakes are not a problem. Also, just being able is not enough, a

learner should be a hard worker. Finally, having positive affect on humans,

pursuing knowledge and thinking critically are essential (Bosson, 2017).
