FMDH welcomes a new Family Nurse Practitioner
Lydia Walters, MSN, FNP-C, is a native Mississippian
who, along with her husband and two boys, is joining
the Glasgow community. She will be providing primary
care at the Glasgow Clinic in the Frances Mahon
Deaconess Hospital.
Mrs. Walters graduated with her Bachelors degree
in nursing from The University of Southern Mississippi
in 2008. She worked in the acute care and ambulatory
care setting for four years before pursuing her graduate
degree.
She worked with a variety of patients during this
time ranging from pediatrics, post stroke, cardiac,
pulmonary, physical rehabilitation, med-surgical, post
neurosurgical, and transitional care. She graduated with
her Masters in Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner
track from The University of Southern Mississippi in
2014. She completed greater than 600 precepted hours
in school in Family Medicine.
Lydia has been working as the only Pediatric
Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner in Mississippi at the
