This scholarship is available to seniors graduating in 2017 from the following
schools: Whitewater, Opheim, Glasgow, Hinsdale, Nashua, Malta, or Saco.
Applicant must demonstrate a high school GPA 2.0 or higher.
Applications are now submitted online only. This is done through the Montana
Community Foundation Website, www.mtcf.org. Applicants should visit that
website. Then from that home page, go to the Grants & Scholarships tab, then
select the choice to Apply for a Scholarship, and next hit the Apply Online FOR RENT: 2 bedroom home for rent on the north side. No pets. $600/
button. The applicant will then enter some basic information about themselves,
and next will get to a list of available scholarships to apply for. The Glasgow

FMDH welcomes a new Family Nurse Practitioner
Lydia Walters, MSN, FNP-C, is a native Mississippian
who, along with her husband and two boys, is joining
the Glasgow community. She will be providing primary
care at the Glasgow Clinic in the Frances Mahon
Deaconess Hospital.
Mrs. Walters graduated with her Bachelors degree
in nursing from The University of Southern Mississippi
in 2008. She worked in the acute care and ambulatory
care setting for four years before pursuing her graduate
degree.
She worked with a variety of patients during this
time ranging from pediatrics, post stroke, cardiac,
pulmonary, physical rehabilitation, med-surgical, post
neurosurgical, and transitional care. She graduated with
her Masters in Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner
track from The University of Southern Mississippi in
2014. She completed greater than 600 precepted hours
in school in Family Medicine.
Lydia has been working as the only Pediatric
Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner in Mississippi at the

5-Year-Old Edith Fuller will be the youngest, cutest
National Spelling Bee Contestant ever! This past
weekend she won the won the Green Country Regional
Spelling Bee in Tulsa, Oklahoma, out-spelling more
than 50 older competitors, some of whom are 14-year-
olds in the eighth grade. It took her 37 words to be the
last speller standing. Ironically, her final word, jnana,
is a Sanskrit word that refers to an elevated state of
knowledge. Other words Edith had to spell include
sevruga (a type of caviar); virgule (an accent mark);
Nisei (a child of Japanese immigrants who is born
in the U.S.); jacamar (a long-billed bird); and alim (a
Muslim scholar). It all started last summer, when Edith
surprised her parents by spelling restaurant correctly,
her mother Annie, told the Tulsa World newspaper. It
earned her a ticket to the Scripps Spelling Bee, now in
its 90th year, in Washington, D.C. The Scripps bee is
the big bee, the bee whose final rounds are broadcast
on ESPN. The folks at Scripps are already calling
Edith who i home-schooled, by the way the latest
spellebrity. The 90th Scripps National Spelling Bee
will be held with Bee Week falling on May 28 to June
3, 2017. As in the prior years bee, the first place prize
will be $40,000, and second place will be $30,000.
