Writers Workshop
This week, first graders Social Studies
continued writing nonfiction This week, first graders learned about two holidays:
teaching books! We worked on Chinese New Year and Groundhog Day. We studied
teaching in our pictures, being the traditions of Chinese New Year and even looked
brave enough to spell fancy at a Zodiac Calendar! First graders also had fun
words, and adding and learning about Punxsutawney Phil and discovering
subtracting from our story to that he predicted 6 more weeks of winter weather!

We kicked off Unit 8 this week in Fundations. During share our songs and
