Is television an effective tool for the minds

I would also like to say many thanks to the juries who have given me opportunity to deliver an
English speech in front of you all.

The word television comes from two roots. The tele part comes from the Greek word for far away.
Vision comes from the Latin for to see. Thus, a television set is a device that enables us to watch
programs, shows, cartoon movies and much more.

As every coin has 2 sides similarly every technology has good and bad effects. Television has huge
impact on Society. It has both advantages and disadvantages.

Honorable audience
Television can be used as an effective way to build the minds of children by teaching them a lot of
languages like English, French, Arabic and etc.

So a lot of researches confirm that children who watch Tv they can be star students and more
intelligent than the children who do not watch it. The most useful things that a television support are
live broadcasting, education, history, sports and business.
Television certainly has much to offer, and without a doubt is a great innovation. But when it comes
to relying on it, whether to be informed or entertained, it can certainly affect people negatively.
According to my opinion, Television makes the students lazy to work and to study. And Television
makes our eyes tired. If we watch Television too much, we cant focus to study. And Television effect
on children is considered quite worrisome and needs to get serious attention and affection from their
parents, especially from their mother.
Gentlemen:
Watching television means inactivity, and inactivity has been linked with obesity and heart disease.
A recent research study conducted at the Harvard School of Public Health indicates that watching
too much television can significantly increase the risk of developing obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Dear fellows:
We must stop watching Television; because Television makes you forget to do your job, and you
must know, that you are the students, you are the next generation. Please use your time to pick a
book and get information in your study; because your future is in your hands.

A time will come when your physical and mental energy will be dissipated, and you will come to
realize that you have not yet actually lived. But then it will be too late, and you will be filled with
resentment.

Finally I want to conclude my speech by saying that television has more bad effects than its
advantages.
