How to calculate the response value (C/K value) for a 6.6KV capacitor bank.

Normally the response value, more generally known as the C/K, is set automatically as a part of the Auto Setup sequence, but
there are cases when these values must be entered manually. The correct value can be calculated using an equation requiring
the 1st step size (in vars). Line-to-line voltage of the network used (in volts) and the CT ratio as follows;
C/K = (Q1st) / (I1/5A * ULL * 1.73)
Where Q1st = Size of 1st step in vars
ULL = line-to-line voltage in volts
I1/5A = CT ratio
For example: for a 100kvar step under 6.6 kV with a CT of 2000/5,
C/K = 0.022, the choice is 0.02 to be setted into the controller.
Caution: when the customer can see on the display Verify", you mustnt validate this parameter and you must go out the manual
setup sequence. When we do "manual setting", we never use "VERIFY".Because VERIFY check all parameter (as auto setting).

How Ecodial Advance Calculation, determines the "type of regulation" of "LV capacitor banks?
According to the following rules; Ecodial Advance Calculation proposes the type of regulation (fixed or automatic) of capacitor
banks:
- If the power to be corrected (Q upstream + Q downstream) is greater than 15% of the apparent power of the upstream sources (sum
of the apparent powers of upstream transformers used simultaneously), then Ecodial imposes power factor correction with an
automatic capacitor bank.
- If not, a fixed capacitor bank can be used.
This principle is followed to avoid over voltages in the installation, when the installed power of the capacitor bank is high with respect
to the consumption of the installation, then an automatic capacitor bank adjusts the number of capacitor steps connected according to
the level of the loads on the installation.

What are the selection criterias followed by Ecodial Advance Calculation, to determine the "type of LV capacitor banks?
LV capacitor banks are available for 3 levels of harmonic withstand:
- Gh/Sn < 15%, "Classic" capacitor banks can be used
- 15% Gh/Sn < 25 %, the capacitor banks must be at least of the "Comfort" type (the "Classic" type is not allowed)
- Gh/Sn 25%, "Harmony" capacitor banks must be used (the "Classic" and "Comfort" types are not allowed).
If Gh/Sn exceeds 50%, a special study must be carried out to determine the type of capacitor bank because harmonic filtering must be
installed.

Is it allowed to use high rating detuned reactor (50kVar) with low rating capacitors (30kVar)
No. It is not allowed to deviate from the combination provided in catalog.Detuned reactor impedance is tuned with the capacitor
impedance to detune the circuit.
So impedance of 50kvar reactor if used with 30kVar will change the detuning frequency.

Where to place the CT's ( current transformer ) before or after we use to supply of the Varlogic Controller.
The Current Transformer must be placed before Varlogic Controller i.e. before all loads (motors, lighting, capacitors etc.).

What will be the tolerance limits for inductance for detuned reactor.
The tolerance limits for inductance for detuned reactor should be +/-5%. The measured value should be within this limit.

What is preferred location of CT in Accusine PCS+

CT location at source side is preffered in Accusine PCS+ active Harmonics filter where single set of CT's is required for parallel units.
What is the heat dissipation of LV Capacitors.
The LV capacitors generate heat about 2,5W/kvar total.

What is the selection criterion of Circuit Breakers for the Capacitor bank application.
The selection should be done after derating the Circuit Breaker taking into consideration voltage variation and capacitors tolerances
that could increase nominal current up to 1.5In.
The Derating factor of 1.5In
Where In = Q/ ( Square root of 3 ) Un
Q = Capacitor Power
Un = Nominal Voltage
Choose the Micrologic with delay time selection, so that the Circuit Breaker does not trip due to initial high inrush current.
Also to be taken into account are the parameters like supply frequency, operating voltage & harmonics level of the power system for
such application.
Refer the attached sheet for further details for selection of Circuit Breaker for Capacitor duty application.
Note: Use the phase barrier between the phases in Circuit Breaker to prevent flashover due to heavy inrush current
